What is the point of a debate?

Some RP guys are genuinely concerned about the state of society and the state of young men and boys in said society (RP just didn't materialize from thin air, there are underlying reasons behind it's emergence). They feel it's important to educate guys who find themselves in a rut and hopefully set them on a path to improvement and a better life.

As far as BP goes, they just seem to be triggered by RPs languages and rhetoric and given the gynocentric culture we live in they consider it a cardinal sin to even think about women in a less than positive light. Many of these bloops are inflicted with the WaW effect so they feel compelled to defend women no matter what.

It varies person to person. Some people enjoy the ego boost of “winning” a debate, some people want to push an agenda, some people want to get closer to the “truth” and some people want to have their conventions challenged.

For me, I use it as a corrective measure, because I have a tendency to quickly buy into certain ways of thinking and well I have to say what I believe at times or present certain arguments. I used to be a feminist when I started on here, and I would thank certain users this subreddit for challenging me on this. I also have different opinions on The Red Pill then I initially did when I first read through a lot of it. I can get more into it if you are more interested.

I debate because I don't particularly like misogyny, misandry and overall generalizations about men and women. I'd like to see more trust between the genders.

Why would a RP man want to waste his time persuading others that it works and that they should use them, essentially inflating the competition and undercutting himself as a commodity in the sexual market?

It's mentally stimulating and fun and challenging. It's not often people have their views changed, but it does happen. More often, through repeated questioning, people are able to understand their own positions better. I can't tell you how many topics I had never even bothered forming an opinion about until someone questioned my logic and we worked it out step by step.

whether or not TRP works is irrelevant. it is presented as a series of premises, claims, assertions, ideas, points and systems of thought all of which are true or false, logically coherent or not etc. the purpose of debating them is to torture them for truth value and consistentcy, like th epoint of debating anything

there is no point, the debate in and of itself is a fun activity (at least to me). using logic to find truth is very pleasurable to the INTP. and this is the only place where we can discuss RP since it's so taboo irl, so we get to share thoughts freely

The RP man isn't advertising. He is bragging. There's a difference between promoting for business and personal interest, and promoting for your own ego.

As far as your question goes, the purpose of a debate is unique to the individual. Reddit logs these posts for whatever reason they use them for. People come here to share their viewpoints, or spam them. Others come to socialize with others because talking with people polishes facets of their character. It's also interesting just to read the differing points of view offered by others.
