I actually fucking hate being hit on. I'm a decently attractive female in a male-dominated field and I find nothing more degrading and dehumanizing than being objectified for what I look like rather than being treated and respected as an equal and a human being. I think most women would actually feel the same way. Do you not understand how infuriating it is to walk around this world living your life being assumed stupid until proven smart because of your gender? Having total strangers say and do things to make you feel like your worth to this world is completely tied up in your appearance rather than your accomplishments and hard work? It's not even flattering. It's fucking insulting. There is NOTHING about it I find enjoyable or pleasant.

B) I'm sorry but this is an extreme level of hamster and you know it. The club dresses that girls wear on their GNO are designed to attract men. You will not be denied admittance for not showing enough cleavage or for wearing a dress that goes down long enough that everyone can't see right up it if they're behind you on the stairs. Girls go above and beyond the "dresscode" required for the clubs (which is typically dress or long pants, but no jeans), and you wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in a dress that covered the majority of your thigh or heels that were only 2 inches.

GNO specifically refers to going out to a club or bar. Saying "why does a GNO have to involve a club" is like saying "why does a spa day have to involve a spa?" That's just the term for that activity. It doesn't mean women don't also go and do other activities together, but tell me, where can I and a group of my friends go out and have a couple of drinks and dance to loud music until the early hours of the morning where we won't get hit on by men? I would imagine my husband would be going to the casino to gamble (which I wouldn't be very happy about for other reasons). He does go out without me to bars and gigs far more often than I ever go clubbing and it doesn't bother me at all.

Girls go above and beyond the "dresscode" required for the clubs (which is typically dress or long pants, but no jeans), and you wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in a dress that covered the majority of your thigh or heels that were only 2 inches.

Actually that's exactly the type of thing I wear to go clubbing. That's what I thought you were referring to, fancy clothes.

Okay, reading comprehension was poor the first time around. Let's try again.

1) The point of GNOs is to be the center of attention and get hit on. The reason girls like to dance in that atmosphere is because they are all but worshiped there. If girls really wanted to not get hit on by guys, then clubs would have actual lady's nights where only women were allowed. If the market was there for girls to pay to dance without any men around, someone would've catered to it by now. The truth is, women would fucking hate that. A club filled with only women? No one would go. It's not about the dancing and drinks, it's about the attention.

2) Completely sidetracked this point and misunderstood what I meant. In this hypothetical situation, your husband is going to the casino under the guise of an innocent night at the penny slots and $1 blackjack table with the guys. However, the reality is that they're bringing stacks of cash to flash around and wearing tuxedos. They don't intend to spend the money, they just like feeling like big shots. When they get home to their wives they all claim, "There's nothing I can do to keep these women from coming up to me. It's just the nature of the casino." If they really just want to go to the casino for a night with the boys, why bring the cash and tuxedos that draw the attention of the bimbos? This is the equivalent situation with women. If you really just want to dance, why not wear a conservative outfit and send a clear message that you're taken?

They do exist, they just only tend to exist in urban centres with huge populations, because they're drastically cutting down on potential clients. I'm not saying no woman wants to hook up at a club, only that women in relationships generally don't. If there's a group single and taken women, they'll go to a normal club for the single women. (Also, some women and men think gender-specific clubs are sexist and boycott them.)

It's not saying if women cheat they will, it's saying they engage in a form of oblivious act of getting attention from the opposite sex while absolutely denying it has anything to do with it. If a group of women go out, women only, dressed up very revealingly, and go into a nightclub, and if they are dancing and chatting up with other men who approach them, they are doing this to get that attention. Girls night's out, hence the name, don't need to involve activities in places where people commonly get laid, AKA meat markets.

It's the same thing as a person using vodka for mouthwash when they have listerine on hand as well. Even though they say they are just using the vodka to rinse their mouth, this is an oblivious statement, because its well known listerine works far better and is intended for that purpose.

Yeah I don't buy that all women do this for that reason. But ok, who cares? I don't see "getting attention from the opposite gender" as cheating. I mean I'm sure it can become a problem if for example, she's doing it all the time, actively seeking to replace her man, or "needs" extra male attention to feel secure. But every once in a while? No I don't see a huge problem with it. Girls also like to go dancing and drinking. And they like looking good when they do it. It isn't always solely about getting attention.

For the most part, I see it as harmless, even if it does involve "obviously" getting male attention.

Most women do this for that reason. TRP says AWALT, I say mostWALT. Most women I've met have been focused on activities like this. If a girl is the type to drink on the weekends and have casual sex, when they go to the club they are looking for male validation. Absolutely. It makes no sense otherwise.

The story they give: "Ugh, I just want to dance and feel alive. Why do guys always come up and hit on me?"

The way they really feel: "I wouldn't hookup with most of those guys, but it's nice to know I can turn heads."

What they do: Continue going back to the same clubs, wearing the same skimpy outfits, rejecting the same guys.

If their story was true, they'd be going out to red light/green light bars, or they'd be going to gay bars, or they'd find something else to do on girl's night out. The truth is, part of "dancing and feeling alive" is being sought after by men. That is undeniable fact. If a girl goes out in a dress and heels and not a single guy hits on her, that's a failure of a GNO for her.

That being said, I know some girls who don't fit AWALT. Not girls who are heavy/ugly and don't receive attention anyway, but girls who are attractive but still choose not to go out when they have a boyfriend. Basically, girls who are honest with their intentions and desires. They have a boyfriend and don't need further validation. These girls almost universally choose to spend GNO actually hanging out and talking with their girlfriends, or they very reluctantly go out with their hypergamous friends and even take off early sometimes when they realize it's just another night of attention whoring.

I've seen those girls in action and it's amazing. They miraculously don't cheat on their boyfriends, don't branch swing, and spend healthy amounts of time single before having sex again, rather than going on a cock rampage as soon as her boyfriend breaks up with her.

No, the others are the norm nowadays. I went to a very nerdy undergrad institution and most girls drink and sleep around despite supposedly being the subset of the population most focused on their studies and least into partying. I mean, typical state school girls made even the craziest of the girls at my institution look tame, and those tame girls were still extremely hypergamous. Most girls do exhibit the typical hypergamous tendencies that TRP rails against.

Even now, in medical school of all places, I'd say 75% of the girls are stereotypically hypergamous if not more. Many come in with boyfriends, most cheat. At the very least they branch swing to another guy within the class because they realize their undergrad boyfriend isn't going to make as much money as they will (not joking, I've had this conversation with three of my classmates already, practically verbatim, "I mean, he's great, and I love him, but he's really not gonna make that much money. I mean, I'm gonna be making $200K most likely, and he's barely gonna break six figures. I don't want to be making twice what my husband makes."). Not two weeks later one of these girls is cozying up to a resident. All three that had that conversation have since ditched the college boo and gone after guys in law school, medical school, or business school, and that's just the three I specifically talked to. If you count my whole class, I'd say 60-70% of couples are already dissolved and it's only the first year, and all those girls are either out fucking Chads, or chasing bigger bucks.

It's not all women, but it's a heavy majority. Hell, even the girls I thought were innocent start showing tendencies when you really get to know them.

Honestly, I really do think it's everyone, but motivations don't matter. Actions matter. Women are more easily able to practice sexual hypergamy. An alpha can give out fucks all day long. There's no shortage of Chads looking to get some tail, and it costs her nothing to sneak away for a few moments to let him fuck her brains out. Maybe if she's lucky, she'll get pregnant and get Chad's genes with "Dad's" money/support.

Most men can't do this. Women aren't evolutionarily trying to get pregnant with your average guy. However, take a look at most married men who have a sudden rise in fame or power. Almost like clockwork they either abandon their wives (if they can afford it without hurting their image) or they start a string of extramarital affairs with more desirable women. Men are also hypergamous, but we are so rarely able to express it without risking everything we've built (keep in mind, women are able to respond to positive signals from men with no fear of rejection, if a married man gets rejected, that's a major risk).

Women are simply more free to practice hypergamy because men make it known they're interested, and because more high status men are interested in lower status women.
