If she's not looking for him to help in any way, it's probably a waste of time. Most men lean towards problem-solving when it comes to social tensions like this. He'll likely be thinking about what he can to do help.

If she's just looking for someone to talk at, whilst he just nods and generally responds in the affirmative....she should just save her breath and assume he's generally supportive. He probably doesn't care about the situation even a little bit, beyond his capacity to make things better for her.

Mostly, no, especially when the problems are serious. Introduce them to him as people on schedule and what he notices he notices, what he doesn't notice you don't go volunteering until you've been exclusive for a long time and marriage is upcoming. If he becomes an ex and you've told him everything then you've got someone wandering round who knows exactly where to hit to shatter your family. Until you've got your own little nuclear family your family of origin are more important than anyone despite their flaws and you should not expose them to attack.

Yes, if the relationship is serious and you're past the just-dating phase you should be able to discuss anything with your SO.

Talk about things only when they're relevant for now if it's a young relationship (i.e. if something specific is getting you down) and save the deep meaningful conversations for ~6 months in. Sometimes putting it all out there at once can be overwhelming for someone who doesn't know you that well.
