We all know what I provocatively named the "Cuckold" husband is, that image of the pussy-whipped beta with a dead bedroom, a shrill permanently dissatisfied wife who spends suspiciously long nights out at parties with her friends, and generally still expect her husband to still bend over for her for the slightest hint of approval, which he eagerly complies with and places all the blame on himself for not being good enough for her.

And then we have the the "Alpha" husband, without elaborating too much, the dreamy strong, successful, masculine, independent and self-sufficient guy who doesn't take any shit-tests, knows how stand for himself and take charge, inspires jealousy in other women, and keeps the fire burning in his wife's vagina for him.

We tend to think of them as opposites. The cuckold husband might deplore the Alpha for what he sees as a one-sided power structure or not being gentle and understanding enough, or he might see him as the role-model that he failed in being for his wife. The Alpha husband might consider the Cuckold pathetic or pitiful.

But when one thing which always happens to strike me, when I see men mocking the cuckold husband for his inability to earn his wife's respect, or not respecting himself by succumbing to constant attempts to please her, is that both they and him share the same internalized male identity, that of a servant, the only difference lying in performance.

The cuckold and the alpha each believe that they have a duty to preserve the "love" of their female partner by consistently proving their worth and their ability to keep her, either through the failing method of capitulation and pandering, or through asserting their utility and status at all times, lest they get ditched for a better man. And presumably, with either non-existent or much more lenient demands having to be followed by their female partner to consistently prove her own worth.

In that sense, the "Alpha" is little else than an impending cuckold, currently in the good graces of his master, and watching the cuckold as a warning of what happens to a servant who falters and can't keep his wife's passion. He might chide the cuckold for desperately trying to appease his wife, but in truth he is doing the same thing, by different means. Just like very few "beta" husbands started out that way, as women won't initially accept someone in whom they see no value, and the excitement faded out over time, so is the Alpha living on borrowed time. Just like the plantation slave who gets whipped when stopping to rest, so will the supposed Alpha find himself in the same position of the cuckold if he ever loses his spirit or seems to be lagging behind compared to other slaves. Only the strongest can keep up their SMV stable enough for a successful lifelong marriage. Redpillers apparently acknowledge that, if you can't be the Captain, you lose your first mate. But in that very metaphor, just how many historical ship captains could sail boldly and vigorously for their entire lives?

The notion that you need to "re-kindle the flame" and "make her fall in love again every day" hides some very destructive implications beneath it's jovial veneer, when it is understood that it is not alluding to the affirmation of love and affection itself, as it should be, but rather to the re-affirmation of the external factors upon which that love hinges, such as status, success, security and tingles. Or in other words, if your humor isn't as funny as it used to be or your career is crushing, then expect to be on the fast track of the cuckold and begging your wife to stay with you despite your lowered value until she might decide otherwise.

A justified standard? Well, I hardly see many women being apologetic of men who hold the agency in their relationships discarding their wives after they get old, put on a few pounds and aren't as exciting as they used to be in favor of a younger, prettier, flirtatious new wife. Actually I am quite convinced they are seen as chauvinist lecherous pigs.

Ironically tough, and to the significant mindfuck of plenty of betas out there, unconditionally loving your wife does nothing to make her reciprocate if you no longer meet her conditions. While you will see plenty of embittered women on their blogs and social media claiming a guy who doesn't cheat or looks at other girls and only wants them would be the rarest and most desirable gift in a man they could possibly seek, in the next minute they'll be telling the cuckold that his loyalty is worthless, constitutes the bare minimum, and too desperate and co-dependent. That is because loyalty only matters if you're an alpha, while at the same time the woman herself is completely opportunistic and disloyal. Since women can't grasp impartiality and consistency, they usually don't really see a problem in saying that unconditional loyalty is the most coveted thing while fantasizing about alphas, while at the same time laughing at the face of the confused simp who shows up and offers to provide it.

So finally, what would be the preferable alternative to that dual model? Another principle, which while I am of the opinion that women are biologically programmed, and very easily do extend to each other, but cannot fathom of applying to a male, is "camaraderie". The hen flock on one side, and the male competitors in another. But I think that real romantic bond should be no less than how a male might treat someone who fought alongside him and saved his life - with indebted loyalty for the rest of his life. Or if you're having a regular Christian marriage, then pay more attention to your vows and take them seriously. Rejection or loss of respect should only occur if there is a breach of safety ( Violence, abuse ), of trust ( Cheating ) or if the partner neglects to affirm his love and affection itself. Not because of different, and often shallow reasons. And this is why both the cuckold and the alpha are upholding themselves to an unfair gynocentric servitude which to me seems equally humiliating and undignified. And while I know many "Alphas" might make the comeback that they enjoy their role, the point remains that nothing is certain to last forever, and it still seems odd to dedicate a fair portion of your life to someone whose loyalty is fickle.
