Why am I pro-feminism?

On a theoretical level I think intersectional feminism is right about society. There exists a framework of different oppressions and privileges and many people are both, disadvantaged in some contexts and advantaged in other contexts. The goal should be to reduce and hopefully at some point end oppressions. (Though I'd say that in the West at least oppression of women is one of the lesser oppressions, compared to, for example, racism.)

On a practical level live is a lot easier with the premise "women are people". In daily life I assume that there are no innate differences between man and women and that differences between men and women I know are just individual variations in humans. This helps a lot with interacting with and understanding women.

Why do I identify as Blue Pill?

Theory: I think Red Pill Theory is wrong. The sexual market doesn't work like RP thinks it does except in a few special circumstances. Blue Pill doesn't present a general theory on this matter except that Red Pill is wrong. And with that I agree, so I'm blue pill. (I do admit that I'm no expert on Red Pill theory, the Red Pill source most of my knowledge about Red Pill is based on is a cursory reading of The Rational Male.)

Practice: The dating advice as well as the self improvement advice that I found on decidedly anti-RP websites seemed much more a) doable and b) in line with how I want to live my life. (I know blue pill and red pill advice produce results, but I can't compare which produces more results overall. So this last part is mostly personal preference, supported by my feminist leanings described above.)

I'm a straight guy and I think feminism is a good thing. It's a group trying to weed out the crappy things we've done to women over the years. The fact that there needs to be federal legislation for fair pay and birth control is a pretty serious indictment on society. Don't really want to get into the politics of it all, always a black hole of zero minds being changed, but I think that it gets a bum wrap because of the super vocal minority who go to the extremes (blocking guys from seeing speeches or going into churches etc.). I don't think trp is full of bigots and bad choices, on the whole most are just normal dudes trying to better themselves a little, and then there are some very vocal single minded guys/trolls who insist women shouldn't have the right to vote. TIL feminism and trp have a lot in common. Normal people with a small group of shit heads giving them a bad name.

Straight male, 25, gym rat.

Pro Feminism in the sense that I believe in complete gender equality in all areas of society. I hesitate to use the word feminism due to the ban porn, ban prostitution, man hating views in that some of the more extreme feminists spout; which go against my belief that everyone should be able to choose what they do with their body to the extent that it doesn't infringe on the same rights of someone else.

I believe in equality because it seems so blatantly obvious to me that everyone (regardless of sex, race, gender, sexuality) should have the same rights and opportunities.

With regards to Red Pill ideologies, I am part of a large group of guys, we go out drinking, we exhibit typical lad-ish behaviour. I do not however agree with any of your views on women, what is acceptable behaviour towards women or that you need to be a dick towards them to get them to go out with you.

And frankly if someone treated a female friend or relative in the manner you discuss on here I'd beat the shit out of him.

Can I answer as a BP-leaning purple-piller? I post in TBP but not TRP. I do consider myself a feminist.

Why? Because I do believe that women are treated unfairly in society. Because I know too many women who have been hurt by men for doing nothing but giving them trust and the benefit of the doubt. Because I have seen enough different opinions expressed by women that I see very clearly that they are not a homogeneous mass that can all be treated by the same set of rules. And, because I believe that a woman's ownership of her body, and of the sober decisions she makes with regard to this right, are more important than my or any man's ability to "get his dick wet." My goal in life is not to maximize my own happiness and get whatever I want with no regard for others. I care about women as a whole and their equal treatment in and by society, and I'm willing to NOT conspire among men about ways to get what we want from them without them having a say, or having their words taken at face value.

Straight guy and feminist. I'm generally an empathetic person and I think that's one reason why. What really started it was where I work. I'm a scaffolder, usually working on industrial sites, a place where women are incredibly scarce. I've heard so many horror stories from women about harassment, sexual or otherwise, and people not wanting to work with women because they consider them "trouble" and sometimes may even have the gall to report their harassment. Also, on the safety end, for awhile, women were given "unisex" harnesses, in which had a woman actually fell, they would have broke their pelvis.

Then you get told by people stories about being raped multiple times in their life and not being able to report it, women in abusive relationships with overtly controlling men, the whole gamut.

Then when you read more into it, listen to the interviews, listen to the podcasts, and you hear the stories from people and you start to feel some empathy. I mean, for example, women have to pay for tampons. I know that seems small, but every month, a woman is pretty much needed to pay for something because she has to. It's a small expense, but it's one, for instance, that men don't have to deal with. You hear about concepts like "herstory" instead of history, looking at the past through the view of women, or other people in general. Being intersectional is also very good with looking at stuff like racism, homophobia, all that fun stuff.

So yeah, basically one reason I'm likely a feminist is I'm generally an empathetic person.

I am a feminist because it's still worse to be female than male in American society. I am anti red pill because it's a disgusting, cultish dogma that advocates mentally abusing women to get what you want.
