Is there such thing as an 'Alpha-Omega'? I feel like Dan B would fit that profile. His instagram portrays an over the top lifestyle, but it makes me feel disgusted rather than turned on.

The multiple heart attacks, the loaded guns carelessly laying about, the rampant coke problem, the paid, anonymous, and replaceable sex dolls, etc, all scream 'DEAD INSIDE' to me. Not fun, not sexy, not exciting. If I was one of those sex dolls, I feel like I'd have to be perpetually high on something to quell the fear that this mother fucker might snap and kill me with one of his random loaded guns.

Couple that with coke paranoia and (probable) roid rage...I feel like he's a ticking time bomb (heart failure? murder suicide? only time will tell). how is any of that alluring?

The real person of Dan Bilzerian as an ideal? I don't know.

Certainly not mine; pays prostitutes to hang out with him, does a ton of coke, has all his wealth from his father's shady business dealings, etc. Props to him for monetizing his instagram/twitter in a unique way but I don't aspire to be him, no.

There are two types of alphas in my mind (and everything in between):

Alpha Negatives: Drug dealers, criminals/thugs, Jersey Shore type gutter trash. They can attract hot women, but are low class and often get in trouble with the law. When TRP criticizes alphas, these are the types of alphas they typically criticize.

Alpha Positive: The epitome of this is, for me, is James Bond (ok, fictional but still the best example). Of course good looking, but he has a 'i'm unflappable and i have my shit together' edge, and dresses well, not trashy.

MMA fighters are hugely popular with the women they meet and can go between both extremes or somewhere in the middle. They have the added bonus of being deadly warriors and thus 'protectors of women' (as well as being able to dominate any other man on earth, if need be). They're alphas in the most animalistic sense.

Dan Bilzerian projects an over-the-top, exaggerated Alpha male image on Instagram. I'd say Steve McQueen or James Bond is more in line with what I'm going for.

Can't comment on the reality behind the public image though. Given how hard he tries to push the image, it's probably hiding a much sadder reality.

Having said that, I can't imagine being that unhappy while flying around in a private jet and fucking girls as hot as the ones in his posts.

this is like those discussions about an "absolute truth" that people may never know.

people's idea of an alpha male always gets contaminated to some degree by their idealized self. so now you've got two x factors to control for. how accurate their idea of alpha is to a true alpha and how far they are from their subjective ideal. I still use the term but I think the term is antiquated and needs to be replaced with something more accurate and objective.

Wilt Chamberlain is the ideal [for me]. Although I may want to have a biological child to create direct descendants. Wilt may have at least one son, but he they never met - providing for a son would be the one thing I would do to change Wilt to create a new "ideal".

Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee are close seconds.
