It's a book, not sure if you knew this. The poster is taking the laws and trying to frame them in trp context. As for the book, it's pretty good. As for the posts, they are extremely retarded (granted I only read one post). People should read trp theory and read 48 laws (if they deem it useful) and apply that to their own lives, not listen to some random guys opinion on the laws.

From a holistic perspective I think it's good.

A lot of the advice sounds like what Machiavellian beta would suggest.

"Keep your head down." / "Don't bring too much attention to yourself."
"Until you get to the top, take advantage of and ride on a true/existing alpha's coattails."
"Conceal your intentions."
"Guard your reputations." I.e. "Care what others think."

Just goes to remind less nuanced rpers that "pure alphaness" isn't the only way to success (and probably not the safest these days).

Loved the book. There are a lot of historical anecdotes about Louis XIV, Bismarck, Ivan the Terrible and others in it.

A lot of the things in that book are extremely transparent and doubly so when executed by someone who's trying to "act" like the book describes instead of being naturally that way.

At least for me, following that book would just get you put into my mental "dude seems shifty, don't trust all that much" pile.

Well, I guess I'm alone in this, at least based on the comments, but I really like the 48 Laws of Power Series on TRP. Read the book in the past, and reviewing a short synopsis of each law every day is beneficial.

48 laws of power is good group of stories and guidelines, but it's pretty limited on how power is gained.

It is one of many ways to learn how to achieve a goal. The Art of War, 33 strategies of war, on war, 48 laws of power, the prince etc... all teach, if not the same principals, similar principals on how to maneuver through society.
