If men's salary was increased to 150% there would be all kinds of protests and overthrowings. If those made no progress women would go the old school way and become housewives, hoping to find a man with some paper.

If women made 150% of what men made, we would probably be coerced by society to lower the standards we have today (a man that makes more than us) because those men would be insanely difficult to find. There would be a dystopia involving women unsatisfied with their men because they just don't match up. In a society accustomed to such standards of men making the most money and whatnot, women are going to be dissatisfied with being the opposite.

I think the dominant RP theories re: hypergamy are pretty vague.

Was Anna Nicole Smith ultra-hypergamous? Maybe I'm alone here, but I don't think she was attracted to J. Howard Marshall in any real sense of the word. I don't think women are sexually attracted to men with wealth because of that wealth. I don't think beta bux is sexy.

I agree with the implied answer here: marriage rates would plummet if women made 150% more than men. It's not that they'd be less attracted to men - it's that men that weren't otherwise attractive now had nothing, at all, to offer to entice commitment.

The economy would collapse and no one would get married because they'd form tribes and start killing each other for whatever resources remain.

I don't understand how does it concern hypergamy. Definitely they would increase / decrease but not because it would actually change the desires of women, but rather because it would affect to what extent can women follow their desires vs. follow their existential needs (find a provider for later when kids will retard her career etc.)

If hypergamy has any useful meaning whatsoever, then it is not marrying "up" in the modern social sense: I know plenty of geeks with large paychecks who are not attractive because they blow it on gaming rigs and whatever, and I know poor guys who can live in a more spectacular way by using a small paycheck sort of more socially.

If hypergamy has any useful meaning whatsoever, it is a desire for the guy who would have been high status not today but in "caveman" times - I mean, I am not sure if I agree with it, but it is at least something intelligent to debate. But if you think women are standing in queues to marry top level Microsoft engineers, well, LOL.

By plenty of metrics, it's already at 133%, feminists just reverse the figure to women make 78% of what men do.
