Women that are actually your friends and aren't just letting you orbit them will often be more supportive and more eager to help than male friends.

Going through a hard time? Female friend will listen and not pull a "Cool Story Bro" and then try to distract you with activities, which, when shit gets real you might actually need.

Also women will more readily do any favor for you that doesn't involve physical labor. They visit you in the hospital, watch your kids, pick you up from the airport.
