Most libraries offer an inter library loan service, where they'll borrow books on your behalf, from other library systems or universities. This is going to be your best bet, if you don't want to shell out the funds. It might take a couple of weeks, but if you have a halfway decent library near you, you should be able to get it.

I don't know anything about the book but... Why would you need to motivate an alpha male, or good quality partner. My bf is a surgeon and he is just fine at getting himself ahead. He doesn't want or need suggestions. If you are pushing him isn't that a sign you are having to mother him? Babying him? Isn't that a red flag that they aren't self motivated?
