What I'm about to say is gonna sound a bit strange but I noticed that confidence is something that comes from the situation and not from yourself. And I'm speaking about confidence in a broader context, not just with girls.

For example, if you are the manager of a small firm and you're giving a presentation to your employees about how to run the company, everything you say is new information to them which in turn gives you confidence.

Say you're at a bar drinking and girls are giving you IOIs. Then you feel confident and you start approaching.

You approach a girl in the street and you could tell from the body language that she's totally into you, more confidence.

You're giving a speech in front of your seniors at work and you know that they know more than you do and no matter what you say you're getting shit regardless, you feel overwhelmed and unconfident.

Say you come to work in your confident aura as per usual only your boss informs you that you're fired, no more confidence.

I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Basically you're confident when you got your shit together and know what you're doing. You're confident when other people give you the impression that you're confident.

But sure as hell you're not confident when you speak to your professors in university. To your boss. Or to an HB10 on the streets. You're not confident anymore when your girl cheats on you and drops like a used condom.

Confidence is circumstancial and not internal.

So what is confidence? Tell me where I fucked up guys.
