How is this post linked to detoxing from red pill?

Political discussions defending/attacking Feminism or MRA are not allowed in this sub unless it's somehow related to ways that directly help those who are former red pillers to detox from it.

Which is usually kind of hard to do, given that Red Pill theory overlap in many ways with anti-feminism and, to a certain extent, MRAs.

Still, i'm gonna need a good reason to keep this up, otherwise i'll have to delete it. Sorry :/

I get the impression the writer didn't read spreading misandry or was an mra.

If they were they wouldn't have based their article around feminist stereotypes of mras and the conflation of mra and red pill.

I enjoyed your article although I find it problematic in places.

I would like to ask you; why has the title been framed as "one man's journey from misogyny to feminism?" I could be wrong, but around 5 days ago when I first read the piece, the title was different. In the interests of fair reporting on the Men's Rights Movement, do you not feel that that is rather extremist framing; the priming method of manipulating reader's sympathies against the MRM from the start?

Dare I ask, were you paid to find an individual who could reject the MRM as a borderline hate group?

This isn't really relevant to this group. For one thing, TRPers are not MRAs. Second, while I agree with the author that there is a lot, maybe even a majority of MRAs that are anti-feminist, you can find significant intersectional MRAs that are for egalitarian feminism (though not femblrism), like /r/MensLib

While most of us who follow anything even remotely know that TRPers and MRAs hate to be associated with each other, but the fact that there is a huge overlap of members and culture that it makes an article like this relevant in dealing with changing one's mindset away from cynical beliefs to being more open and empathetic with the opposite sex and healthily addressing your own issues with self worth and masculinity.

As for /r/MensLib, you are right that we are advocates for men's issues in harmony with feminism, and we have plenty of "on-the-fence" MRAs and Redpillers alike that read, I don't think anyone involved would comfortably identify as MRA, because speaking as someone who has been in both communities, I can safely say the culture is VASTLY different, especially in terms of toxicity, cynicism and blame. I subscribed to MR for a while in the early days until I noticed that hints of the horrible tone and attitude that disgusted me about Redpillers was becoming more and more pervasive, and both TRP and MR alike are now subs are constantly filled with anti-feminist outrage porn, anger, victimization, racism, juvenile arguments and paranoia, which is not a healthy way to have better relationships as a culture or as a man.

My criticism of the article is more that it's light on the really important details, such as what changes took place in the author's thinking that he was able to start changing his thinking away from oppression and gender warfare to a more sophisticated and nuanced view. All people are capable of incredible changes in our being, and sometimes we go through multiple changes in our lives before we find something that works and is good for us and those around us, but I often feel that there's not enough discussion on the process of accepting change and self analysis.

Yeah that why i stopped going there. i actually do boots on the ground stuff with homeless shelters and soup kitchens and at this point they just piss me off with their out rage porn. IDK what the rp/mr over is exactly as of the last drill down it was like 17%. but yeah.

the thing about menslib is their are places where feminism badly need to be critized (to to the exclusion of every thing elce like mr but still). and i don't feel like mr would be willing to look at that, or even how women interact with men that is less than pro social

Well, define "involved" because I feel I'm involved and I'd comfortably identify as an MRA (though I think it's more clear to use "intersectional MRA" in the same way as it's better to say "egalitarian feminist"). I however did not wrap myself in MRA communities. I saw them and rejected being associated with the people, not the ideals. Red pill, I learned about it to argue against it in subs like this or ppd, mostly because I see it as an alluring trap for low esteem men, and so I feel I'm doing some good while admittedly there is an amusement factor.

But just because femblr communities are toxic towards men, I'm not one to give up on identifying as egalitarian feminist. One of the women I'm dating identifies as one of these as well, and even on our first date she distanced herself from mainstream third wave. And I think men specific issues are important so I have no problem with saying I'm an interrsectional men's rights advocate. As you know in that sub, they aren't mutually exclusive, though some femblrs would like to state they are (a point I don't care to argue, I'm not big on equivocation. If you understand my meaning then argue to the meaning, not the assumed definition)

this is pretty much where i find my self in regards to mr and rp.
