I’ve found this site interesting.
The red pill is clearly needed, not in terms of how this sub defines it but instead as an antidote to the blue pill.
As I said in a previous post, the red pill is a place to visit and not to live. RedCurious made a fair point that married men in crisis would benefit greatly from a step by step method to help them succeed. I don’t doubt that.
The reality of all this stuff is simple. Don’t make women more important than they actually are and don’t place them on a pedestal. Instead, seek God Kingdom and His righteousness. Live by the spirit, do good works, get involved in your community and become like Christ and suffer well.
Those are deep ideas but those ideas with reading your Bible daily and fellowship with other Christians... those are enough. They are enough to do well.
It’s impossible to have a rationale conversation on this site though. I can read a 5000 word essay on a disagreement and have no idea what’s being said.
I wrote that if I were theoretically married and my wife said, do I look fat in XYZ dress then I would probably say no to my wife. I then said I would try to view the world as God does, seeing her as a child of God and focusing on my wife’s inner beauty.
I thought this to be simple but was told that I would be lying - as clearly a man can’t strive to see the world through Gods eyes and not think of his wife as fat. And lying is bad! Then there was a diatribe on how the church tells men to marry ugly fat slobs that haven’t showered in weeks because God only looks on the inside. Men should be happy to marry a 300 lbs slob who doesn’t brush her teeth or shower!
Wow, all this from saying that I would try to view my wife as God did.
I really don’t believe the men conversing like this are unintelligent, it’s just the degradation of conversation on the internet. Someone having coffee with you would look you in the eye, ask what you meant, try to find a common ground if possible, realize that the person your speaking with may have something valuable to say.
BUT not the interwebz!!! Here you have to go into a long discussion, strawman your “opponent”, Garner likes and public approval (a successful response is the upvoted one!).
But rationality and humility are dwindling and being replaced with authority and confrontation. There’s little effort to make peace or come to agreements, instead you create a bubble of people who all agree and vanquish those who aren’t in 100% agreement. You also place yourself as the judge instead of entrusting the Judge who judges justly. Who among you should judge how a man speaks to his wife if he prays for guidance of the Holy Spirit in his conduct?
I wish there was a way to give men the red pill without having an indoctrination or group think process going on. That’s why I had hoped for a good book, clearly and I agree with DeepStrength, game isn’t necessary. The Bible has enough. Jesus is enough. But it would be helpful to have a guide to show men they are being lied to by the culture.
I don’t know if this can be done in a balanced and thoughtful way without appealing to yourself as an authority. The reason the Rationale Male did well is it just tries to explain the praxeology of inter gender dynamics. The second you start believing that your way is the true way, you’ve become the judge. That’s why I find principles much more helpful. Principles are applied. A successful investor, Ray Dailo wrote a book called Principles. They were the most useful principles he has learned to help him earn billions. Jesus also taught principles. They can be applied in many ways, that’s why they are useful.
