I’ve never heard of someone bringing up an ex in that context that wasn’t deliberate. Id assume he was trying to be hurtful. If it became a pattern I’d move on.

Ok so - the first would be a little insulting but that’s life. As long as my bf assured me that he’s never had a connection like the one he has with me, or that x other thing is better than ex girlfriends, that’s fine. I also don’t care about what girls he’s slept with look like, I care about ex gfs only. The most beautiful girl with a bad personality wouldn’t threaten me (that much).

Second one - chance to improve. If bf says I’m not that good at a sex position that’s my chance to figure out what he wants and do more of that. Easy Peasy. In fact, I would really appreciate him telling me.

Why the heck am I dating someone functionally or socially retarded? Good lord. I drop him back off at whatever basement he crawled out of and admit myself for drug treatment or something. How emotionally backwards or autistic would you have to be? I don't tell guys I'm with they have a small dick, why would I deal with a lesser tactful person?
I don't mind critique about some specific thing. An action, something I can train at that isn't directly tied to my body confidence. I can barely eat a hoagie or use a slip and slide. Sex isn't something I've taken classes in so no expertise to be insulted.

It's the difference of improving your typing speed or accuracy or someone saying my god your fingers are long and weird!

But why would other girls have to come into it in the second one?

The way in which it's mentioned makes all the difference.

And, if you know your partner and know yourself and are confident in the relationship, any discussion can be healthy and mention of exes is taken with a grain of salt or even as constructive criticism. But if any jealousy is already present or if there is already a lack of confidence, a conversation like this won't work.

In theory, anyway :)

It depends what's the intention of the confession. Obviously, it's not realistic that you will be the best anyone has had on all fronts - the most beatiful, the best body, the best moves, the smartest, the most successful etc. unless they had ahZerooo experience. Someone else has you beat at something.
