There is more than one way to live our life, we don’t have to narrow ourselves to these predefined lifestyles and definitions. This applies to others besides ourselves too, so any and everyone should be able to live the life they want to; however, it should be free from ALL expectations. Why? An old adage explains this well:

> "Don’t ask for things to happen as you would like them to, but wish them to happen as they actually do, and you will be all right." ^(How to Be Free: An Ancient Guide to the Stoic Life, Epictetus, Translated by A.A. Long (Princeton University Press, 2018) p. 17.)

Confused about the quote? Here's a great explanation from a fellow redditor.

Everything is a social construct, if it were not then show me where in the universe does it say you get to have your cake and eat it to? If everything happened the way they actually do, we would all be living the life you're thinking about already.

Face reality for what it is.

We always will have autonomy and personal responsibility no matter what we decided to get into. In the end, you either will accept or choose to whine with the struggle you experience. Don't like neither? Then stand up for yourself, work with what you got and get it. We all go through and experience life, complaining means you accept to be complacent.
