There's a lot of evidence that shows that happiness has a financial plateau for a family. A lot of sources cite $75k, but I'm sure it varies by region. My husband and I make around $90k (him $40k and me $50k, give or take) together, in a very LCoL area. We have enough money to pay the mortgage on our very comfortable home, all the bills, and still have a fair amount left over for goals, such as buying a sleeper sofa for the converted garage or the $800 gun safe I bought him for his birthday. We have healthy retirement funds, a few investments, and $10k in savings. If money feels like the only thing you're chasing, you might consider moving.

I don't know about you, but love is a luxury if you're broke ass and heavily in debt, which pretty much describes most of the younglings in this day and age.

The lack of money has probably more to do with the dysfunction junction in modern relationships rather than greed or whatever.

I’ve always thought deeply mutual sex was one of the nicest things we get as humans.

The money to do things like stay housed and have a family is becoming harder and harder to come by. I’m grateful that the I’ve never wanted kids I think that colors your long term romantic choices a lot.

Money is not the root of evil. Money is just a tool. Most people's lack of morality is fully to blame. Other than that, I agree with the rest of your post.

My family is well-off. I've met my fair share of disgusting gold-diggers pretending to be nice girls. If you think it's a problem that women don't approach you because they only caree about money, think again. It'd be worse if they did.

There is no room for love in america. You can lose your job at any time and with that goes your living and other benefits. Your best bet at having a safety net is exploiting someone well off and desperate for affection.

It seems to me that both sexes today are predominantly focused on building themselves up financially by getting together, rather than to build up their partner spiritually.

Males have to build themselves up, females do not.
