AWALT story from mobile. Excuse any formatting and grammatical errors. I just remembered this.

A few months ago I went to a golden glove boxing tournament. I wasn't competing but supporting a buddy of mine. I went with a female friend (J) who was also a fighter but not competing. (Every guy should have at least one female friend where there isn't, nor ever was any attraction. They are a source of information.) As we are hanging out in the bleachers before the first match I see a pretty hot girl sitting in the section of one of our gym affiliates. I asked J if she knew anything about her and she said no and suggested I go talk to her. I see this chick pull out hand raps and realize she's competing today so I decide to wait until after she fights. She finally has her match and wins, so perfect, she's in a good mood.

I tell J I'm going to talk to this girl and she says ok, smiles and walks away. As I'm walking up to the girl she pulls out a flask and starts drinking. Could this get any easier? We sit down and are chatting for around 10 mins when J walks over and says she ran into a female UFC fighter and I should meet her. I tell her I'll be over in a minute and she walks away. 5 minutes later J comes back to tell me we have to leave as we are meeting some people at a nearby bar. I look at my plate and ask if she wants to come. Mid sentence J grabs my wrist and literally drags me down stairs and out the door. I asked her what's going on, thinking maybe she knows this girl has an STD or something and she says "we have to go. I don't want them waiting for us." I asked her if there was a guy waiting for her and she said no.

That's when it hit me what just happened. Even though there is no attraction between J and me, she still didn't want me to pick up a girl that she considers more attractive than herself. Needless to say we don't talk much after that. Remember, women aren't your friends. They aren't the enemy but they damn sure aren't your friends.
