Tyra was the villain to literally everyone. She even tried to go toe to toe with THE Naomi Campbell and Naomi shut that shit down on Tyra’s own talk show it was literally iconic.

Also, we all know that Tyra purposely gave those girls horrendous makeovers because she was jealous and petty. Most of the time, the girls looked worse and hated drastically changing their looks. Tyra delighted humiliating girls she viewed as beneath her. The famous “we were all rooting for you” freakout was because the model was eliminated and cried but started smiling when she was hugging her friends goodbye because she was trying to smile through her pain. Tyra saw this as her being ungrateful and screamed at her on television for the world to see.

I remember she made one girl bleach her hair and she had such a bad reaction that there were open sores all over her head and she still finished dying her hair. Some other girls were forced to go tothe dentist. One of the winners was so sick she was in the hospital but left against doctors orders because the showrunners threatened to kick her off the show if she missed the elimination ceremony. One of the Jay’s also spoke out against Tyra recently. That show was true chaos.

Right? Girls, who had some sort of principle or boundary, not being starry-eyed pickme to everything, were made seem to be as odd, moody, unwanted and difficult. Girls who found their ”thing” were being sabotaged by tasteless makeovers or ridiculous challenges that would be way too impractical and inefficient in a real setting. It seemed to be created just to lower girls' confidence, put them in impossible, inhumane and dangerous situations and humiliate them for drama on TV. It made that whole people-pleasing (at the expense of women) industry look so cruel and depraved. Making people physically hurt and suffer when you could easily avoid it. It seems as torture and it's hard to see Tyra in a positive light, when she's like: ”let the designer set you on fire, bonus points if you smize while literally burning”.
