TL;DR: Was at a party with a guy who had everything going for him. He spent the night with a dry dick because he was too clingy, and ended up being seen as a creep in the morning.

Body: (Not sure if this should be a Field Report or a Blue Pill Example, but here goes.) The other night I was at a party, a celebration for the start of the summer break. It was the perfect conditions for hook-ups, an almost cinematically well-laid situation. We were at a cottage by the beach, the moon was out, there was a campfire, it was just magical.

Anyways, one of the guys there was aiming for some action. Now, this guy won the genetic lottery. Tall, blond, blue-eyed, very attractive fellow. And he had the out-going, shit-eating confidence to back it up. When he arrived at the party, he got straight to chatting up girls and always had one on either arm. As the night wore on, he was on top of his flirting game and all the girls even convened in private to discuss who would go to bed with him. He was set - no way he could screw this up.

The girl he'd been spending the most time with started to cuddle up with him more, and this is where his string of fuck-ups began. He stopped socializing with everyone, and flirting with other girls, instead choosing to hang onto the girl beside him. I couldn't help but cringe as I saw this - he'd broken the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" rule. His actions before had been attractive, yet as soon as he saw some interest he changed his behaviour. Bad move.

Mistake 1 - Changing his actions when what he'd been doing before had been successful.

It only got worse as the night progressed. He just lay on the couch with the girl, ignoring everyone around them. The girl was clearly a bit put off, as he didn't bother to find somewhere private and thus set off her anti-slut reputation defence. Even if she was interested in him, she had to put up a front of disgust to avoid being seen in a negative light by her friends.

Mistake 2 - Being too forward in the presence of the girl's friends, hence activating the ASD in full.

As people started heading to bed, this guy guided the girl up to a bed, in the same room as two other people. Two people who hadn't fallen asleep yet. Yep, I could hear her ASD ringing from across the hall. As he lay in bed with her, sucking on her neck in the sloppiest way possible, I could hear him ask to have sex every few minutes. It was genuinely pathetic - he had a girl in bed, and yet he was determined to gross her out with constant wet hickeys while hoping she'd become magically attracted to him. He literally sucked in bed. He just wouldn't relent though, he had become so obsessed with this one girl that he couldn't even leave her alone for a minute to rebuild attraction.

Mistake 3 - Becoming so desperate for a girl that he couldn't leave her alone. Definitely not abundance mentality, clinginess is never sexy.

Needless to say, the boy left early the next morning without having unwrapped a condom. As everyone else chatted and joked around, the girl he'd been going for kept making disgusted faces at the thought of her night with him, and her friends talked about how he was a total dweeb who wasn't getting invited to any more of their parties. This guy went from Chad Thundercock to Chester Molester in 8 hours, all because he became fixated on one girl and wasn't willing to leave her side or even move to somewhere private.

Lessons Learned - Abundance mentality is one of the finest tools at your disposal. No girl wants a guy who treats her like she's his only chance at getting laid; it makes them feel used, and it lowers the guy's SMV. Clingy is just another word for not having this abundance mentality, and it's no wonder girls see clingy guys as creeps and losers.

Also, girls always have some form of Anti-Slut Defence to preserve their self-respect. But when they're around friends, that ASD is kicked into overdrive to protect their reputation as well. If a girl has to act like she doesn't like you, she's probably going to start feeling that way as well. And she's definitely not going to have sex in a shitty sleeping bag while other guys lie awake beside her.
