Contrary to popular believe, it isn't a matter of them liking risk. It's a matter of them not being able to look at anything from other than their point of view. Let me explain.

To them, they are off the market. They don't have walls up like they would when dating. Two things happen here. First, they are more receptive towards you, are actually engaged and listening instead of looking for your angle. They know they are going home with their SO, so it doesn't occur to them that you might be hitting on them - or at least don't care.

The second thing is that because they feel "safe" they are more engaged with you - which you may very well be reading incorrectly. I mean, when you are used to having to work to get a girls attention and then suddenly it's just there with no effort, its understandable to think the chick is into you. She's not - you are just reading her wrong.

Women are hypergamous, they need to gauge their market value to see if they can potentially attract a better man.

A single women will likely know exactly where she stands and what she can get whereas a woman in a relationship has limited opportunity. When she is alone and able to test, she certainly will.

The fact that you think this is always flirting means you likely still have the pedestal mindset. They are married, so it can just as likely mean they are comfortable, stable, and feel secure because they have a man to protect them.
