Hi, Ladies. I’m not sure if I chose the right flair, but here’s what’s up: ...
This afternoon, I was casually checking my e-mails, only to discover a random message from my ex who I haven’t seen or even spoken to in over a year. Previously, we lived together for 5 years, during which I both worked and and attended graduate school full time. Meanwhile, he could barely be bothered to hold down a job for more than a month or so. He didn’t cook, clean, grocery shop, help take care of our house or pets, etc. It was one of the most stressful periods of my life. He also bought an engagement ring at 2 years in, but let it burn a hole in his pocket for the next 3. Shortly after discovering FDS, I cut things off for good.
He was blocked on everything, but for some reason went out of his way to create a new e-mail address so he could reach out. He apparently wanted to let me know that he finally has a steady job, he has moved to the coast (which is where we’d always talked about settling down), and he’s all of a sudden ready to give me that ring. Along with “Merry Christmas!” and an invitation to visit him at the beach. 🙄
I blocked and deleted (again.) Prior to FDS, I think I probably would have felt compelled to say something back. I realize the holidays are a popular time for this “sliding back into your DMs” nonsense, so just let it be known ... if you find yourself in a similar situation, you don’t owe that person anything. 🤞🎄❤️
