I want to get in to I.T, which I.T career do you guys recommend?

I would go with Frontend route if I was starting over, since the interviews are much easier than Backend ones.

I would learn TypeScript well, some basic HTML/CSS, and Angular and/or React. Other stuff that I would recommend you learn is RxJs, Redux, and some basic design patterns. I would go with technology specific courses (the technologies listed above), and afterwards I would read books on them. Other programming books I would recommend is Clean Code, Refactoring, and Clean Architecture - read this after you have some coding time.Get familiar with Git and a development environment of your choice, I recommend IntelliJ Idea. Learn the basics of how internet works, there is a free course on Udemy about this now.

The most important thing is that you spend a lot of time coding, solving problems and have several Git repos to show for it.

Code every day, take notes, use todo lists and Pomodoro timer for productivity.

Then after several months, maybe one year of intensely focusing on the above, make up 2-3 years of experience in a small company that doesn't exist. If you really did all of the above they will not expose you, I know a lot of people with more experience than this that slack off, do fuck all, and still weasel they way around the market for good money.

Saying you want to get involved in IT is like saying you want to Business...it’s vague. Do some research on the various subjects. Programming is a decent field, but if you’re not careful you’ll get thrown into a basement with other code monkeys and it can be tough to get promoted in. I would recommend networking or security with a solid background in cloud computing.

Hey bro, I ended up changing my career from digital marketer to a software engineer last year. I ended up doing a 3 month coding bootcamp and landed a job after a month.

You can take the other route and take self learning depending on what you want area you want to be in (front or back end). The good thing about a bootcamp is they give you a clear and structured path to become one and gives you the basic structure on what you need to learn with other languages (I felt like there was so much info i did not know where to start), but make sure if you want to do a bootcamp DYOR on them as some are known to rip you off. But its up to you if you want to take the self learning route or bootcamp route.

you can make great money doing contract/freelance work. building/fixing websites and apps, but you will work your ass off

DevOps is great. There are a shit ton of developers out there and the market is full of them.

They're all new-ish too so you're not gonna stand out. I was a dev for 15 years before I moved to sales a few years back. Currently due to the pandemic, I'm helping out the developers because I make fuck all money not being able to sell anything.

If I had to start again right now I would go for devops. Great money, and everyone is moving their software into the cloud. Really good devops people are hard to find.

Before you do anything, you should take some base level certs and get your hands dirty in projects in every discipline that you're interested in. Security pays well, dev/ops pays well, general development pays well. If you're slated for a career in IT, find what you enjoy doing. You're capable of making 6 figures in all of these arenas.

irrelevant. one that’s makes you happy and makes you money. the rest is history. it’s a career 1/3 of your life. use it to support your other 2/3 you’re personal life and your hobbies.
