Fired my family almost 9 years ago.

Zero contact.

It’s debatable who was the most evil woman in the family.

My grandma? —turned her three kids into criminals, became a mah jong addict, became a money vampire, matriarch on drugs basically, undiagnosed bipolar disorder

Mom? — divorce raped my dad, emptied his personal and business bank accounts, stole side hustle jewelry inventory, took away his license, dated his youngest employee for 15 years after the divorce, corrupted my sister and beat me nearly to death countless times, patholigical liar

Stepmom? Bait and switched my dad, was nice to me prior the marriage, cucked my dad for years. Tried to create a false rape allegation out of spite.

Aunt? Human trafficking. Went to jail on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Con artist, multiple identities and hundreds of thousands in fraud. Single mom. Wine addict and sommelier. Narcissitic sociopath.

No surprises here, i went my own way before reddit even existed.

It’s a sensitive topic for some people. My mom was cool for the first 13 years of my life, then she completely changed. Became verbally abusive, then became physically abusive around the time I became 18. She tried beating me a few times. I felt so bad for my dad. She treated him as if he were a lower class citizen. Matter of fact, she treats everyone like that. Then she’ll play it off like nothing happened. I’m happy that my parents finally got divorced, now my dad can live in peace.

She sucks.

Mine is crazy. I still remember to this day that when I was around 1-4, my mother hated me. I remember 2 exact moments specifically. The first one was when I was maybe 2 or 3. She picked me up and was about to throw me off from the top of the stairs with the full intent of killing me. My grandfather stopped her thankfully. The second time was when I was 4. I don’t remember exactly what I did to piss her off but she was furious so she heated up a knife and held me down as she seared the top of my hands with it. I still have the burn marks to this day. I don’t hate her but I don’t necessarily see her as a saint either.

Is she is an AWALT, absolutely fucking YES.Women in majority love their children they have a relation like children are part of her.That doesn't mean mean they love their husbands or boyfriends or they will not divorce the fathers.

Are some mother BAD yes of course but that does't make the majority of them.

We should not confuse the mother/child relationship with mother/father relationship.

Love my mom. She was always there for me. My father was very cold. He was a doer though. Me and him spent time together via work. I love them equally.

They have been married for about 35 years and seen very happy- a nice place far from any city. Perfect to weather the virus.

My mum ran away when I was in school aged 12. She took everything in the house, took my sisters and moved to another country with the help of her family. I have PTSD and blame myself that it was something I did wrong. A year later I had to move to her because me and my dad were made homeless as they house was signed for in her name and the local council didn't care. We rented. The homeless shelter had drug dealers, alcoholics and poor single mothers. It was horrific and I can still smell the place.

I had a mental breakdown at 13, didn't go to school for a year but finally moved back with dad. I got a degree from university which I'm proud of considering how bad things got.

During my teens I made excuses for her behaviour but 1 Christmas she had invited her new bf to come over. I said I didn't want that and it wasn't right. She started screaming, crying, calling her bf etc. My poor younger sisters could see what was happening but I knew I had lost my mum. I got my bag, packed my things and left. I haven't spoken to her in 9 years.

She is mirroring her family, the one that came to help her move. Destructive, selfish, narcissistic and plays the victim. She's now in her 50's and while we're in a pandemic, she is deciding that spending time with her new bf is more important than looking after my siblings. Makes me sick.

It's been a factor in my depression, I feel much older than my age because I'm mentally battered from it all. My mum has never apologised. I have decided I don't want kids in case I become her, get used and hurt badly again or pass on traits of mental illness

The worst part is she still doesnt understand what she has done wrong all these years. All the years of me complaining that she doesnt care. She only cares that others found out that they were abusive, so they shifted their strategy to being overly social, after trying to hide my mental illness for years.

Fuck her and my dad. I cut all ties and have never been better. The worst part was the emotional rollercoasters and manipulation (she is a woman and an expert at that). Not to mention the vicitim mentality.

Having an abusive mother is probably the most horrible thing you can experience as a child and it carries over to adulthood. I know most people would just dismiss it, because of the same "Wonderful Woman syndrome" we all suffer from.

I really hope you are doing well now and you have cut her completely out of your life. For what its worth, abusive mothers and wives is way more common that what most people think, and those who endure it always end up thinking they are the exception. But they are not. More mainstream discussion needs to bring this to light.

The thing about mothers is that they are the only women on the planet that are able to unconditionally love their children. In other words, as a man, you may experience unconditional love from your mother, provided she isn't a total cunt. You will never experience unconditional love from a girlfriend/wife. Mine was also vile. She cost me 10 years of my life, horrible 20s and $15k in lost equity. I finally had to cut all ties, had great success rebuilding my life but still have some issues being so far behind where I feel I would have gotten without the bullshit. She had the gall to message me on facebook saying she forgave me for being mad at her. I blocked her and never replied. Every now and then some of the family on that side start talking about how her and my step dad are doing and I have to promptly cut them off. Regardless of what family member I say "Stop, I don't give a fuck how they're doing and I'm not having any conversation about it. Don't ever talk about them to me again or I'll have to stop letting you in my life any longer either." It's sad that it's come to that, but words cannot describe the evil those people did to me. I've tried to explain it, people never believe me & frankly I'm done wasting any time or energy trying to justify that decision to anyone who doesn't understand after this quick explanation.

The moral of my story is that I feel you bro. You're not alone. Most people are blessed with family that actually care about them even if they don't have the best situations. But, some of us have to dig out of a hole those others will never comprehend just to make it through life on an average level. It makes us stronger and more resilient. Understand that it's a difference those who haven't been through will always try to belittle you over it, but it allows for much more progress in life through sheer strength of will, that resilience, and a drive to overcome situations that most would give up in.

My mother has had mental problems through most of my life... it started when I was in elementary school, and by the time I was 15, she was more non-functional than functional.
Due to legal problems in our country, she cannot be permanently institutionalized, so when she would gradually got worse and worse... until she was absolutely out of control, we would call a hospital, they would take her in for a few days, manage to get her under control with medication but then she would immediately leave the hospital on her own... and this would go on for literally decades now...
as you can imagine, growing up with such a person in your home, while my dad would spend 7 days a week working 10-12 hours a day, was not great... I'm afraid that when my dad dies, I'll be the one who has to take care of her and god knows how long... she is a heavy smoker, barely coherent, right now semi functional as to talking to her, but doesn't really knows what is going on... she needs to be fed, given medications and you need to wash the stench of cigarrettes every few days from her room....

As for mother's... Well mine was actually surprisingly enough self sacrificing in some ways.. although I think serving was a way she showed love. Did everything for us kids, did all the cleaning, cooking etc. My dad did 12 hours shifts so when we was off a few days at a time after sleeping he would spend a lot of it with us kids, played video games with ne. She was a fairly private person who didn't show her emotions much but could be tender in quiet times. I actually felt bad my dad didn't seem to help her more at times but he did do a lot of guy stuff like rebuilding the deck and stuff... As us kids got older he'd spend a lot of time playing games on the computer. I felt like she msotly left him alone except of course shed occasionally have a project for him and might nag for him to get bathroom tiles in a few days with his knees bugging him or something .

Can't find much fault with her. Like most women she didn't have any real interesting hobbies.. well ok she loved playing the piano I'll give her that. My sister's of course were all 'why are you such a doormat mom...' as they got older.

My mom left when I was young, she was looking down the barrel of 40 years old, and missed her crazy party days. Looking back I really can't fault her for doing what she did. Things were bad between my parents, my dad didn't carry his own weight at all and has been unemployed doing nothing for quite some time, I think the line about men not pulling their weight in relationships is bullshit 99% of the time, but this was the one percent where it may well have been true.

My Mom is an AWALT, definetely no unicorn, she did her drug addict stripper days on the carousel, had my sister at 15 years old, had me at 35, but she was an AWALT with a heart. When she left she could've taken a fortune along with her, she didn't. She asked for 15,000$ and her 2002 Chevy truck, that's it. she actually paid child support to my dad. It wasn't a legal victory, I wasn't in the court room because I was too young, but everyone involved kept telling her she should take more, but she refused.

As I said my mom is undoubtedly an AWALT, but she had the option to pull the trigger on destroying my dads life and living easily for the rest of her life and she didn't, and for that, she has my respect.

I had a coworker who once insisted I needed to start talking to my family again and make things right. When I told her some of the stories from my childhood she said 'no you don't need that in your life' and dropped the subject.

My mother was a mess of a human being, the worst of it was her faking a stalker for a year when our dad left for Greece. Now I'm in mountains of debt because of her too. The problem a lot of people have is that they act like if you had a bad mom then that is the reason why you are MGTOW and that not all women are like that, etc.

I had a terrible dad too but I love having male friends, hell I love having father figures too, my adoptive dad is way better than my real one.

When I look at the female side of my family through a red pill lens it's actually insane who these people are...

My mother had 2 sisters, all of them divorced, my mother twice! She has two kids (me and my sister) with two different men and she tried to sperm jack both of them (both of them told me she told them after divorcing that she only wanted the kids for herself)

She tried to ruin my relationship with my dad in every way single mothers tend to...by showering me with gifts and attention when it was dads turn to take me, by telling me he's bad, evil, sick mentally etc., by telling me how he abused her and me (untrue), she sued him for more child support multiple times even though we were very well off (thanks to her seizing half of his business), and so on...

My sister never even met her dad and from what we know about him he also tried to fight for his kid but couldn't afford it (legal fees) and eventually gave up...the saddest part is he lives only 20 minutes or so away, we probably passed him on the street hundreds of times without knowing.

I always thought grandma was the voice of reason but I actually caught her talking on the phone not too long ago about how she planned to divorce my grandad once he paid off a certain house he bought while married which technically makes it half hers and she wanted to force him to sell it and give her half the money...poor guy died at 49 due to heart failure so she just got a premium deal and inherited everything

They can be abusive,but it hurts much more than you realise to admit that the person who raised you is a abuser.My mom would fight tooth and nail in order to protect me,same as my father.Sure she has made some mistakes such as my father did,nobody has never made any mistakes but I am willing to overlook what she did in order to achieve the best possible outcome for my family.My story is still in the beginning, so I stay optimistic and I hope and pray my relationships with my family stay on a positive note in the future.

As a kid i was so confused and tense because of the daily abuse i had to experience.

I still cant believe that there are children in this world, who were not beaten up, or insulted for hours by their parents.

As a kid i thought that this was completely normal.

Also funny that my parents would be swearing all day, yet if i said just one bad word, then it was a freaking catastrophe..

I love my mother I really do, but she's AWALT as they come She me and older sister by two different men both being over 6 feet, she has never had an actual job only working at a fast food restaurant since I was a child (im in my 20s now), sometime around her 30s she finally gets married, but it was to the 5'6 manlet that is my stepfather, and that was obviously as beta bucks provider.
