Most of our behaviour is determined by unspoken rules or implied rules which exist in society. So certain behaviour is encouraged or the person is usually ostracized if they get caught breaking these rules. But these rules are driven into is at a subconscious level usually at a very early age.

Social contract is an oxymoron. Social means a group of people. Contract means an agreement that both parties will deliver something and if they fail to do so there will be consequences. Within a contract it is very specific what will be delivered. But did any of us sign such a contract ?

Wikipedia gives the definition of a social contract as:

The social contract or political contract is a theory or model, originating during the Age of Enlightenment, that typically addresses the questions of the origin of society and the legitimacy of the authority of the state over the individual.

Later on it elaborates with

Social contract arguments typically posit that individuals have consented, either explicitly or tacitly, to surrender some of their freedoms and submit to the authority of the ruler or magistrate (or to the decision of a majority), in exchange for protection of their remaining rights.

So from the wikipedia definition we can see the idea of a social contract started with the age of enlightenment. During the age of enlightenment people started to question the existence of the invisible guy in the sky. Before that leaders would state that they had been chosen by this invisible guy in the sky. So to justify their authority they had to invent something called a social contract.

On a deeper level social contract is the same myth fed to nice guys. If the guy is nice and orbits the woman she will have sex with him. But there is no written contract per say. So it is a scam.

This is just one example. How many other contracts are you following that do not really exist ?
