My own opinion on the subject is that kids born in the 70s-80s to middle class families (Like me) have been brought up on so many things that are actually incredibly expensive and often are not easy to live without anymore. When my own parents left their parents homes they lost stuff like fabric softeners in the wash or maybe cable TV.
Kids today basically have to give up an entire lifestyle if they leave their parents house without having a solidly paying job (or Mr Beta Bux) already secured. This is why I think most are not having kids at younger ages anymore, it simply isn't feasible anymore without pretty jarring lifestyle changes for kids growing up above the poverty line.
Where the 40+ women start having kids is because they were busy getting a job so they could keep affording the new improving lifestyle, or maybe the one they had with their parents, but ultimately got pulled into the soul-crushing 9-5 grind and the only thing powerful enough to snap them out of it is menopause crying out to them that their dream of having a family and the beautiful children and all that is about to leave them forever and there isn't a damn thing they can do about it.

Yes Western society has about 20-30 years left before it really starts to fail. Within that time there will be at least another two feminist movements, the next one will directly target all men wherever they are and whatever they are doing, after that will come the laws that demand action against men.

In between those times you'll see large swathes of men down tools and walk away with mgtow exploding to become the default position for all men and mainstream.

What we'll get is no end of fragile egos etc pushing more men away as they eventually start to get too pissed to put up with it anymore.

Everybody knows this is bad for the future. Either way you slice it, there must be a cheap source of labor. If it's not american working poor, it will be immigrants. The Republican's want to keep the working poor birth rates up, education down, and immigrants out. The Democrats want to lower birth rates, educate the people, and invite immigrants in to pick up the labor slack. I don't think one is wrong or right, but either party runs on the backs of the poor.

I respect your opinion, but my grandfather was head of obstetrics in 7 London area hospitals. He would very much disagree with you about the average female age of fertility. When it comes to having children early, most of the women I know that had children early deeply regretted it and are single mothers. I am allergic to antidepressants but I agree more people are talking them. I have not had children because my boyfriend doesn't feel ready for the responsibility because raising a child is rediculously expensive/scary and I'm not going to force him. Just saying.
