If you're still in your 20s or 30s you probably haven't felt this yet, but I have inherited very good genes from my parents (I like to tell people that I won the genetic lottery), so even though I am a poor old man, I am likely to live a long time, unless I fall prey to an accident. So I keep people in my life, including people who have treated my horrendously in the past. I'm at peace with it, and now I am old enough to have good boundaries.
