As much as I hate to admit I'm friendless. There's not one person I can rely on. Those I trusted were unworthy of faith. I, in my previous form was guileless. It's this weakness of being unworldly that ruined me. I'm a late bloomer. I developed intense infatuation for a girl in my early 20s.

The socially awkward guy I was instead of initiating a conversation with her I I trusted a friend of mine with my feelings. Long story short he ends up with the girl by his side. That was a rude awakening for me. I hadn't felt more unworthy of existing.

It left me hurt. I was the quintessential doormat. I've i vested efforts in changing myself. But most of my acquaintances know me as the weak, timid guy who is unworthy of respect. I'm tired of being dismissed and looked down upon. I don't make covert contracts. I give respect and I expect to be treated with dignity. People who I called friends encouraged me to commit actions that in hindsight I truly regret.

They embarassed me and had fun at my expense. This girl continues to have so much power over me. I freeze in her presence. A couple days back i made a point rebutting her argument and she silences me by saying that someone as inept at social skills as me shouldn't be commenting.

My friend who is now her boyfriend had a smirk. That day I realised that I was a plaything to them. I want things to change.

I've been focusing on skill building to get a good job. But it's these happenings that occupy my brain. My OCD exacerbates the situation. It's poignant and tear inducing what a shell of my former self I've become.

How do I change myself to become someone I'm proud of?
