The problem with this thinking is that we believe that society will always be stable and there’s a future in living in the future.

I’m willing to wager that they’re will be rainy days that will hit so bad that you can do everything ‘right’ and you’ll still get hit hard by something unforeseeable. Success should not be measured by money in our society, this kind of thinking promotes that.

Mental health, Physical health. Life experience. In that order. Live to make stories while you are most able bodied not just living to work for a metric number. Doesn’t apply to everyone though. Some people have no life in them and that’s fine. Its a diverse society and we need these people to do the heavy lifting/ sacrifice. Time is precious. There is no one size fits all.

I’ve always valued minimalism since my days in the U.S Navy. I always plan for everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Having financial safety nets in place makes a huge difference in how fast you can bounce back to recover. Also it’s important to note that over 70% of Americans live pay check to paycheck and have less than $1,000 saved in their savings account. There’s also close to 40% of Americans that live on Welfare Assistance. So by those BLS.gov stats no matter where you live if you don’t practice good money habits then everywhere is expensive for you. No matter what state you live in the government will get their taxes from you one way or another. In California (blue state) where I live we have an income tax but if you go to a place like Texas (red state) you have no income tax but you have high property taxes to offset the costs of not paying for an income tax. Blue or red state it don’t matter if you don’t get into the habit of doing good money habits.

I get what you’re saying and I like, but I think it could be tweaked a little.

Like finance is one metric of life. But I’d venture to say there is also time and energy.

Some people were born into money (Trump).. so not sure how this applies to his (trigger warning) habits.. because (trigger warning) he’s never really had to work for a paycheck.
