Preach. The other answer is so annoying. Getting married is not a commitment anymore, especially for the woman. Either can end it at any time, and the woman gets a golden parachute. To me a woman pushing for marriage is extremely suspicious, even more than usual.

My ex tried that shit with me. I told her upfront that I would never marry her or anybody else. She claimed to be ok with it but a year later she started whining to her friends and family that I needed to buy her a ring etc. Her dishonesty pisses me off but obviously I'm better off being single. Too bad she (and most women, it seems) couldn't be honest from the beginning and not have wasted my time.

No one has been able to answer how a man benefits from marriage. Maybe they can in the rare cases that they receive alimony from women, but that's the minority. Why should a man take a financial risk just to benefit his partner? Why is a man asking what's in it for him so discouraged, especially when the woman clearly wants the benefits of marriage?

These are rhetorical questions, of course.

But in seriousness, this shows AWALT in value for money. She considers her vagina having worth and wants money. She goes to the herd to obtain improved methods to obtain that money, because her current attempts at manipulation are not working, and needs another tactic. She is trying to learn a logical argument to use, as her man has defeated her manipulation with logic.
If she can defeat the logic, she can resume manipulation, and obtain resources.
