Just finished nursing school. 10/60 students were Male. Not as bad as I thought itd be. Still, there was a lot of femininity around I was made to feel lesser. My female clinical instructor gave me a private lecture about having white privilege and Male privilege. Almost burst out laughing. Would have been bad because it was a serious moment.

Back in high school I was the only male in a class with 30 girls. It was a US government class and the teacher was also a male. What's funny is, during debates or open discussion the girls would always get so nasty with and carried away with eachother. My teacher would look at me all the time like "I feel you bro...". I've said this before, and even on this sub I might catch flak for it: nurses of the current generation are entirely overrated. They have all the flaws we've seen in this sub, but their titles make them respected well beyond their means.

Show me a patient that died of something that could've been caught earlier, or because of a hospital-acquired infection, and I can show you a nurse half-assing her job because she knows the nurse's union makes her bulletproof.

A certain percentage are just there hoping to land a doctor or a wealthy patient so that they can have their dreams come true: lock him down with a kid, then either retire for life or just do part time/per diem. The only ones I feel sorry for are the ones that have to manage the schedules with such inconsistent personnel.

I don't even want to tell you the horror stories of things I caught them doing, let alone all they did that were never discovered. Yeah, it's a tough job and yeah, a fair portion actually do do their jobs to the best of their ability, but the days that nurses worked a job that was worthy of the respect the profession has are over, and I doubt they'll ever come back.

Nursing has become the new waitressing: the one job any woman can do and make a decent living on her own; that's why the waiting list for getting into any nurse's program is years deep. Once they're in, they memorize their job descriptions and never once go above and beyond; unless they'd get fired for not doing it, it doesn't get done. Last hospital I worked at, there was an entire section of the place that would routinely not send samples on ordered tests for sometimes up to 48 hours; which means sometimes test results would be days late, and often enough I had to cancel the tests because the patient would be discharged before the sample could be collected, because the nurses couldn't be bothered to draw some blood or have the patient pee into a cup.

As the old guard retire and women like this matriculate in, healthcare for anyone staying in a bed is going to become a fucking Las Vegas bet as to what the hell happens to you. I mean, just imagine your average thot... now put her in scrubs and make her be responsible for 80% of what happens to you during a hospital stay. Fucking take your vitamins, boys.

My company is about 3/4 women and they've ALL either gotten pregnant this year or recently had a kid. Most of them now only work like 9-4, take a Fridays off, don't pay attention to due dates, etc. If they ever get caught fucking up it's "LOL pregnancy / mom brain" and there's zero consequences. I had to spend three months working 16 hours or so a day plus weekends to cover for two women out on maternity leave and didn't get so much as a "Thanks" afterwards. I have no problem with women in the office, but I have a huge fucking problem with them shirking responsibilities as a result of their personal choices.
