SMV stands for "sexual market value". Your SMV is your value in the sexual marketplace. You are trying to sell yourself to certain women.

In the free market, the value of a good or service is determined not only in absolute terms, but in relative terms. The better a product is in absolute terms, the more value it has to a consumer. The better a product is relative to other products, the more value it has to a customer. To maximize the value of his product in the market, a producer needs to either improve his product to the best of his ability, and the other option is to destroy his competition. As John D. Rockefeller once said, "Competition is a sin."

Women are your customers, and you are continuously trying to increase the value of yourself as a product (SMV) relative to the value of other products (men). There are two ways to do this.

  1. Increase your absolute value. Always be improving yourself, whether it's through game, looks, money, status, etc. This is the most commonly discussed method.

2). Increase your relative value. Destroy your competition....or in this case, don't purposely draw special attention to men that have higher SMV than you. They are your competition, your enemy. They are the ones that your girl will branch swing to or even cheat with under the right circumstances. AWALT. By drawing special attention to them, you are giving them power over you.

By acknowledging a petty problem you give it existence and credibility. The more attention you pay an enemy, the stronger you make him; and a small mistake is often made worse and more visible when you try to fix it. It is sometimes best to leave things alone. If there is something you want but cannot have, show contempt for it. The less interest you reveal, the more superior you seem.

Since women's SMV is almost entirely dependent on looks (which they largely cannot control), in order to improve their SMV, they have to rely more on the technique of destroying competition than men do. They use this tactic constantly, sometimes more overtly (slut-shaming) and sometimes more subtly (not buying you a nudey calendar full of HB10s for your birthday.)

While men do not need to utilize this technique nearly as much as women do, it is still a valid, passive, subtle strategy for gaining power over your competition without drawing any attention to the fact that you're doing so. The higher your SMV is in both absolute terms, and in relative terms by virtue of less competition, the easier it will be to both acquire women and keep them around if you wish.

So the next time you think about taking your girl to a hockey game, ask yourself why. Do you really want your girl sitting there getting tingles watching rich, aggressive alpha males in their prime demonstrating their status in front of her? Do you really want her to be reminded that your SMV will probably never be that high? Do you really want to give her any reason at all to feel that she should branch swing from you?

If something doesn't lead to sex with her, then you shouldn't be wasting your time on it. Refusing to ignore your competition does nothing for your SMV, doesn't lead to sex with her, and only fuels her hypergamy. It takes the situation out of YOUR frame and puts it into Chad Thundercock's frame. Why would you ever intentionally do that? Remember, competition is sin. You should be taking her out somewhere where YOU are the one demonstrating status to her.

So always be improving yourself, and never purposely draw special attention to your competition.
