Just the other day I laughed at /u/jacquespenisse in the thread <removed because violates rules>- it wasn't the first time. Everytime I saw a guy warn others about being accused of rape I would just laugh because that has never happened to me or my group of friends and the majority of times have been smashed , a few times black out drunk piecing things together with dried sperm on the outside of boxers the next day at work(scary, scary moments).

To give some context I'm close to 40 and have a daughter close to 20 that lives with me, mother is out of the picture. Daughter has typically been aligned with most beliefs until recently. Enter college.

Today we are talking about racism, she rambles on and on about (she's mixed) racism and the reason she isn't attracted to black men is because of the media and society . I laugh to myself, this kids never had to deal with racism and is living a comfortable life, no rent, no bills - keeps her money from work, goes to school, and we live in an area that is low crime, and "nice". Somehow I guess racism against black men and herself (even though she doesn't look black) has made her not like black guys. Who knew. This is another topic but she then goes into rape culture. She's cooking and I'm in my room with the door open so it's mostly her just talking on and on about Brock whoever the fuck. I ask her how he got off if he was guitly. I'm not really paying attention so only hear key words, "white man" "star althete" and then this that makes me pay more attention "and the judge even said how could he sentence him if she didn't even rememeber what happened". Holy fuck what? My kids disagrees?!

I remain mindful of rule #1 and tell her thats the kind of shit guy talk about and I make fun of them for and never believe. I even tell her that a "buddy of mine" was warning people not to have sex with a girl after two drinks and I mocked the shit out of him. I couldn't believe my ears as my kid goes "yeah two-three drinks is a blurred line".

I realize at that point womens gonna women so I just tell her well if that's the reality of things just make sure you don't get black out drunk or have more than 2 drinks until policy changes. She agrees, I tune out and next time I tune inshes talking about her making her kids eat oatmeal when she has them.

TLDR: rape culture mocker has conversation with 19year old daughter, becomes shocked believer.
