Women don't wear makeup for men, at least directly. They wear it to compete with other women for the top quintile of men. In such a fraught competition, any advantage helps. Same with push-up bras, heels, teeth bleaching, breast implants, dyed hair, hair extensions, etc. No one is making you wear this shit. You choose to because you are ambitious.

Okay this is weird because I read a while back that South Korea is "the male makeup capital of the world" i.e. it is the place where men buy makeup the most.

The article points out that these are not gay men or cross dressing men, it is just that South Korea is obsessed with youth and beauty and even the men have to wear makeup to keep up.

So it is really weird for this to happen in S. Korea. You'd think this would happen in a country where no man wears make up first.
