Dunno about "decades"... in my case/area -- and even more last year on vacation to Ohio* -- I've seen plenty of Amish girls & young-ish women so no fakeup is the norm for them. (Plus they're actually "feminine" too -- and not flirtatously flamboyant either -- I mean more shy, demure, and -- at least publicly -- quiet, soft voiced, etc).

Of course IMHO, or I suppose personal preference -- with the possible the exception of women who have some kind of major acne or other "pockmark" scarring or rosacea, etc (where it's understandable for them to use some "foundation") -- they generally all look nicer without makeup.

* EDIT: Don't know how to describe it, really -- especially since I wasn't actually directly interacting with them or even attempting to (and also I'm familiar enough with Amish {there are several families not far from my home} that I don't "gawk" at them) -- but it was just a sort of general sense of their presence (Amish women AND men AND kids) and some kind of a "halo" effect that they had on other people (like a library quietness, other non-Amish talked softer when they were near, etc)... gave me the feeling of "Ah.. I'm back in a normal, sane world again."; sort of like returning to Earth from some "Bizarro World" (which is how I often feel these days, especially if I'm around large numbers of -- commonly freakish -- "city" people, at shopping malls and big box stores, and such like).
