Straight up, im a nerd and proud of it. I enjoy intellectual pursuits such as the legal field, nutrition + training, biology, and other fields. Because of these passions, I decided to apply for law school. While it isnt an ivy league school, it sits somewhere in the 20s in ranking in the nations best law schools. Which means ill have to work hard to get those big salary jobs, but im willing and driven. Some recent events happened with a women I know, and Im seeking your feedback on the matter, if you would be so kind. Because im not sure if she is pointing out a genuine flaw i should work on, or is steering me down the wrong direction.

Event one: During spring vacation this female friend wanted to go on vacation for spring break (shes no longer in school mind you). I stated that I needed to use the time to study for final exams. She called me boring. It hit me harder than it should have. I did end up studying tho.Event two: We were eating out at an Italian place after seeing avengers end game, she said something along the lines of "you never date , you are so boring". My response: Im not looking for anything serious right now, nor am i going to get bogged down in a sexual relationship. I have one shot at this profession, and I need 100% focus.

Closing thoughts: I see her wrapped up in drama all the time. She bounces between happiness and being an emotional wreck merely from dating individuals. Its almost like 50% of her life is focused on that area of life. It takes up a large portion of her time. I cant AFFORD to be emotionally wrapped up in dating and relationships right now. I cant afford to be distracted with the emotional ups and downs associated with it, nor can i afford to have to invest time in keeping another person happy, instead of focusing on my progression. I managed a 70% scholarship at a decent school, leaving me only somewhere in the range of 30k in debt upon receiving my JD from a great school. This is my only shot at progressing up the economic ladder, i come from a poor family. At least....this is how I feel....

But.....im constantly told by her, and a few other women, that im "boring" and "need a life".

Am I making a bad life decision by not focusing on my social life, and not balancing it properly with my legal education? Am I missing anything that I cant enjoy later on in life?

Sorry for the long post, the comments she makes seem to be effecting me more than it should. Edit 1: I’m 20yo; Edit 2: Im coming back to read these responses anytime i feel down. Thanks yall.
