Remember that MGTOW is about forging your own path, first and foremost. A lot of people come here thinking it's a movement or some cause. I would call it a lifestyle choice.

You have some diehard MGTOW here who have been through some ugly shit and have written off women completely.

I believe it was u/DangZagnut who I saw first use the term "MGTOW-lite" to apply to men who have adopted a MGTOW lifestyle but still date extremely casually. This is just fine, although if you mention it here be prepared to have a monkey throw his poop at you.

You occasionally run into men who preach MGTOW and will discuss ideas but you later find that they are married. Although contradictory, this is fine too. Some dudes are just stuck, or stay for the kids, or tolerate their version of the 'unicorn', or some other reason.

You also run into the occasional lurker who has no defined interest but mostly just browses casually for whatever reason and rarely participates in any productive conversation, they are mostly just 'window shopping MGTOW'.

And lastly, you will find MEME-TOW. People who just come for the luls.

The major tenet of MGTOW is not to engage in entangling relationships with women: marriage definitely not and cohabiting almost certainly not. There are copious legal reasons for this, ultimately boiling down to variations on divorce rape. After that, MGTOW is a spectrum, ranging from (essentially) PUA all the way to monk mode with everything in between.

No two MGTOW are the same but many have arrived to the conclusion that MGTOW is the way to go for mostly the same few reasons:

Divorce-rape.
Falsely accused of a sex crime.
Seen too many close male friends and family suffer divorce or accusations.
Have dealt with lots of women and discovered the truth about AWALT.
Seen the state of women today and decide they rather not deal with them.
Realised that they can have an easier time living a simpler lifestyle if they limit if not remove women from their lives.

Level 0 - Situational Awareness: here the member has "taken the red pill" and embraces the idea that gender equality is a lie and propaganda.

Level 1 - Rejection of Long-Term Relationships: where the man rejects long-term relationships but will still partake in short-term relationships and sexual encounters.

Level 2 - Rejection of Short-Term Relationships: here the member won't participate in hook-ups or any form of short-term or sexual relationships.

I would define mgtow as broadly the following:

-if a woman is unable to commit to one man, and pitch in to take care of her man and family, then the woman isn't worth it

Therefore, most modern women aren't worth it.

Great question young Padawan. Since the "levels" have been covered, I'll just give you my opinion and advice.

In essence: you understand the risk/reward relationship as it pertains to women. Treat women as full fledged adults just like you do your guy friends. You will find that most women can't live up to this simple expectation. Occasionally you'll find a woman who understands that choices have consequences and responsibility includes accountability. These women aren't too bad for friends or companions. Beware the chameleon!

Protect yourself at all times! Maintain positive control of your DNA. Provide and dispose of your own condoms. If you fuck at her place take the used condom home. Do not intermingle money. Alternate or split checks when you go out together. Do not cohabitate. Do not hang out every night! Remember that "familiarity breeds contempt" and "absence makes the heart grow fonder." You live your life and let her live her life. Do not neglect your boys!Male friendships keep you grounded. Hang out with real men in the real world! Virtual friends will virtually disappear when you need them most.

In case you're wondering: I'm 46, never married, no kids. I was a nerdy beta who became a Chad. (Ironically, my real name) I'm in a relationship with a divorced woman who got burned...she's basically a WGTOW. 😁 First relationship over 6 months in my entire life.

Everyone goes their own way their own way. I can think western modern women as a group are disgusting but still enjoy the company of my girlfriend. I went to a wedding yesterday - it was beautiful. My take on it is just to never forget AWALT and use that to inform how I interact with the women in my life.

MGTOW, despite what some posters are putting, is NOT about simply "going your own way". EVERY person is doing that, by definition. So that would mean all blue-pills are MGTOW.

The basic rules for MGTOW are the following:

Do not marry a woman
Do not cohabitate with a woman

And, these rules come from the root guiding principal of MGTOW: Keep your resources for yourself and do not give them to women.

For many MGTOW men it will also include do not have kids as that is a trojan horse to resources.

Casual sex is fine. Using a woman for personal / emotional / sexual needs is fine. Once you start giving your resources to a woman then you start to not be MGTOW.
