Buddhist here.
Actually MGTOW is much in line with Buddhism. Things Buddhism promotes that is in line with MGTOW: celibacy, investigation of what is true, minimalism, not lying, etc.
A few things in Buddhism that sometimes seems in conflict with MGTOW sometimes:
* Practise Loving-kindness-compassion to all living beings and their suffering(s). Whereas in the MGTOW it seems popular to be mad/angry-ish or even hatefull towards women (the rage/anger stage).
* Practise Generosity, as in helping others people or animals that are less fortunate/capable and in need of help. Whereas in the MGTOW it seems popular to spend everything on yourself and cool stuff and none/little as possible on things outside yourself.

Born and raised atheist, but I studied all the holy texts from every religion. The word religion comes from the Latin root word ligios, which is also found in the word ligament, and means to bind together. Except religion only divides people instead, and has caused the most violence and death to the human race, for millennia.

What's the conflict? I was raised Catholic. I no longer attend mass, but the values of that religion are core to me.

MGTOW can be whatever you make it, like adherence to a religion. I skip over the rage/anger posts because that's counterproductive.

MGTOW is also a fine criticism of what western society has done to itself. And an excellent reminder that we have the capacity to be self-actualized without a romantic relationship.

I don't hate women . I don't hate snakes . I just stay away from them because they are dangerous to ones health . I'm not angry or bitter , in fact I've never been happier actually. I live for myself and do things for myself. You don't have to be a genius to see the all the crap men are put through with the laws and women. I refuse to participate in a mindless sheep society . I think for myself and don't let others influence my decision making pertaining to my life . I look within for strength and durability, not from others . You see what you are seeing here because men are tired of being mistreated and they are venting . It will pass as they evolve. I was there at one point but I've accepted the facts and moved forward in peace . My presence here is to help young men to understand when they are being taken advantage of and how to protect oneself from it . We tell our stories to show how widespread the problem really is . I understand the concern you have but i believe it's one out of fear . Do not be frightened . Young men need mentors and that's why many of us stay here to guide them . MGTOW saves lives and if i can help a young man realize his potential and self worth then i am happy to contribute . This is a way of life , not a movement .

No such thing. You never actually WERE "MGTOW" -- being a "subscriber" to /r/MGTOW doesn't make you MGTOW anymore than standing in a barn makes you a cow.

As for "faith" there is nothing inconsistent with remaining single and ANY of the major religions.

Your problem wasn't a problem between faith and MGTOW, it was between MGTOW and your family/societal "expectations" (and probably even more likely your inability to be rationally in control over, and not submit to your base/hormonal drives).

Read the whole book . Whatever your faith is read it all. And come to your own conclusions.

I see from one of your comments that you are Catholic. Do yourself a favor. Take the time to learn the original Hebrew and Latin meanings to the original pre-translation words in the bible. It becomes a very different book. You'll see that you have been lied to by the church. Also focus on the stories being told. Don't cherrypick verses to make it mean what you want it to.

Apostle Paul kinda said it in essence. "It is not for every man to marry". Although of course he meant it the context of focusing exclusively on God.

I look at it as, why have the woman be the sole measuring stick for ones self improvement, resolve and actualization right? Thats something a man should do themselves lest they have a goalpost mover. Its like, being a rock for yourself, before you can be a rock for others as necessary.

As a man who's brought up a Christian in the past I've learned a few things:

Almost every sect in Christianity uses the Bible as their primary source of scripture.
Every sect of Churches has a way of practicing Christianity and each sect claims their way is the right way.
The problem is, each sect has their share of flaws that don't make them absolute. As many of them are prone to being led by people who are capable of extremism, or influenced by local politics or even personal ambition. And unless God or Jesus himself comes down and says 'this sect is practicing it right'; no sect is perfect and no Church is absolute.

So if I were you, I'd avoid most Churches, but I'd still read the Bible. If you ask me Church is for the people who want others to read the Bible to them as they don't want to read it themselves. The pastors/priests whoever leads their sect bring out THEIR own interpretations of The Scripture and its not going to be FACT.

Christian here as well, I found the Red Pill once I was married. Was going through a rough time and somehow was lead to this community. I will say Red Pill logic is truly another lens to see the mistakes you made and why you made them.

Most such -- I would in fact move that ALL such -- men who are "stuck in the rage/anger stage" are really not MGTOW at all.

The real MGTOW life-path is not an easy one.

No path in life is only "roses"... at least not roses without thorns too.

* And relative to THIS thread, the bemoaning of the "RAGE STAGE" is MISLABELED as being from MGTOW.

It is Rage of the EX- Men -- EX-Husband, and Ex-Boyfriend RAGE.
