There is nothing that will ever be equality. And socialism doesn't cure income inequality. It just gives all the money to a tiny group of criminals while you get nothing. All it does is destroy any concept of a middle class or anyone's ability to move up or down the ladder.

The problem is and was on both.

1.How you determine people to work according with their ability(if the people with better abilities are not payed more than the laziest ones ,cause "equality" .......how about forcing them?, good luck with that.You cannot force people to innovate and work more than they were interested to do ,except forced labor camps...wait they tried that too, didn't work for long time)

2.How you determine a person needs(they will have always more and more needs and abuse the social welfare system until collapsed, hint they already did that).

And who will pay for that in the end.People with their blood running in the street.

This is communism in a nutshell from a guy ( that's me)that lived in Communist country and speaks from experience.

That ain't even half of it.

Most parts of Venezuela have (at best) intermittent electrical power... despite the fact that the MAIN electrical grid power source in the country is hydro (i.e. relatively easy to maintain once built, steady, reliable and uber cheap).

In no small part, as a result of that, food becomes more problematic (fridges & freezers don't work without power), water often ceases to be available from a "tap" (either hot OR cold) so access to fresh/clean water becomes a rare commodity, and even functioning toilets/sewage systems often cease to function.

Cue even WORSE malnutrition, disease, etc... that is on TOP of the scarcity of normal "consumer" good food & other supplies.

But hey... good thing they have nationalized/socialized "free" health-care, right?

I would just like to point out to anyone who thinks things just now got bad is very much mistaken. I remember reading all the way back in 2010 how stores couldn't keep toilet paper stocked and it would be weeks before they even got a shipment. This did not happen over night, this has been in the making for almost a decade.

It’s very easy to disarm socialists: play along. Agree 100% that any kind of posession must be shared in order to decrease equality. Go as far as to say that people who were born with higher IQ should provide for those less endowed in this area.

Then casually drop in how women should also be shared, specially the beautiful ones need to have sex with ugly men, because ugly men suffer as they are not able to have what others have.

You know in Scotland, we have free healthcare, free higher education (some of the best in the world) and live in a functioning country with a strong economy and quality of life...Why would you not want that? I'm not a socialist apologist, or an advocate of socialism. But I think it the West strangling the Venezuelan economy shouldn't be omitted.

Swedenistan and other nordic countries are pretty 'socialized' and not far removed, but alas, the US is desperate to prop up the petro-dollar, you can only print out so much money, the US economy and by extension the US will implode harder than the USSR did in 1991, 21+ trillion dollars in debt? Doesn't work. Commie doesn't work. Nothing works like enlightened self-interest under a moral law that applies to the common man and the rich and powerful alike.

We currently have a two-party system that supports unaccountable oligarchs and extreme wealth. Do I want re-distribution of wealth? No, they pay most of the taxes.

Merely want representation in the government; nationalistic work philosophy and environment where we re-establish our manufacturing dominance either through robotics, 3D tech, or talent; realistic higher education and cost; a functioning Supreme Court; establishng a fair family court. This would make this the best system possible. Not perfect, but good.

If families can grow, that's the yardstick. If not, your fucked.

I don't think Bernie wants Socialism but Democratic Socialism, which is the free market variance which works great in northrern Europe. Countries like Norway, The Netherlands, Danmark and Finland have way higher life expectancy then the US, healthcare and education is cheap and people are generally happier.

They are more free as well, in Holland you can high five a cop whilst at the same time smoking a joint and banging a prostitute.
