I used to listen too. But around a year and a half ago I noticed the articles about women began skyrocketing. Women in this and that, how women are discriminated against, how men are bad etc. It has gotten bad. Unfortunately PBS is starting to get the same way.

Their straight news segments are the best in the news business. The problem is every other block is "Aren't women wonderful?" or "Women can do anything!" or "Women are perpetual victims."

It get damn annoying when a truly interesting segment is followed by the umpteenth retelling of how awful it is to be a woman in America despite not also being the beat time in history to be a woman. It's schizophrenic!

I’m sorry, but making history is not a good enough reason for someone to vote for you.

I voted for a female, Indian governor last election. It wasn’t to make history, or to make myself feel good for being so “open minded and inclusive”, it was because I agreed with her platform. I didn’t consider her gender or race or “we need more women governors” for a single minute.

I don't listen to the news casts of NPR. I typically listen to Wait Wait don't tell me, Says You, Ask Me Another, and shows like that. There's also another show I can't remember the name to that i used to listen to that would start out with the host doing a comedy session and then it moved on to musical performances. The news on NPR is usually informative but it's been the same shit for the past year with only a smattering of interesting stories and investigations that are not feminist bullshit.

I'd noticed the same months ago. "And now we'll talk with the first woman to..." got to the point that I was just waiting for them to run out of things and start touting the first time a women shat at a particular toilet.... Oooooo.. look at the progress we have made this woman dropped the first female deuce in the toilet of the 7/11 on Baker street, she's so strong and independent, she even wiped her ass herself.... It's gotten ridiculous. I used to feel a little guilty not donating before they slid into what they have become. I am glad now that they will never see a dime from me.
