I was banned there too. No notification, just kept getting "Something went wrong" when I tried to post. I contacted the mods, and two days later I was told I was autobanned for "posting at the hate sub The_Donald. It'll be lifted if I promise not to post there again". I don't really read or post over there, I suppose I must have commented on something in my feed. I just LOL at him, pointing out that's not a hate sub by any reasonable definition, and that even though I'm not an active participant there, I choose to post where I want.

That's the new PC tactic: call something Nazi or hate and then exclude. Meh, plenty of other boards.

Also got banned at relationship_advice for calling someone advocating cuckoldry a cuck. That was funny, since in the back and forth with the mod, he sent me a google search for cuckoldry that he thought made his point. Instead, the very first link was a scientific article that made my point perfectly. Even funnier, he started arguing against the link he provided as proof. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer over there. Again, plenty of other subs.

I got auto-banned from r/latestagecapitalism for being subbed here. You're like the third person this week to post this fact, it's already been stated that auto-banning people due to sub affiliation is against the TOS, but it's clear the mods and admins don't care about that rule and just want to turn this site into a leftist circlejerk, which they've been doing at a fairly decent clip.

They do it because they know that people who are subbed to places like this one are unlikely to be the type of people who'd be the type of rabid fanatics they desire on their subs, and they know that the types of people who are subbed to places like this have the ability to completely dismantle their leftist arguments. The auto-bans are a cowardly and intellectually dishonest way of keeping their safe spaces ideologically pure and unquestioning.

Bottom line: if you're not a feminist or SJW, that sub wants you to keep your problems firmly on your chest and keep it there.

When (far too many) people don't have any arguments to backup their ideology, all they can do is ban/censor. Ever since 'hate speech' became an illegal activity, all people have to do to get rid of you and your annoyingly factual opinions is call it hate speech.

That is hate action. And the people on the left that created this knew exactly what they were doing. And they did it all under the false flag of 'compassion'.

Most convincing explanation I've seen so far is that one of the mods saw something you wrote, didn't like it then banned you preemptively.

It's possible they're hoping you get your account banned by trying to evade the ban.

Many subreddits employ this auto-banning of wrongthink. AFAIK it is against reddit rules, but I heard reddit admins are left leaning, so they are not doing anything.

This is the only sane sub we have now because we can discuss things like reasonable adults and move on with our lives. Reddit used to have cool subs but lately everything got so damn political & ignorant. Look at old posts from a few years back, you could've said anything then but now you can't even disagree with someone or express your opinion without a shitstorm happening.

It's sad that so many mods are using auto-ban scripts to exclude people who participate in discussions on "the wrong subs".

They want to make certain that their subscribers aren't exposed to ideas that conflict with their ideology. They won't risk letting you speak if you've even had a single conversation with their opponents.

Thank god they aren't in charge of anything important. History shows what happens when people like that are given political power.

We really need someone with an extreme amount of fuck you money to sue all these websites for violating their speech. The 2017 Supreme Court ruling in Packingham v. North Carolina laid the basic groundwork when it was stated that modern social media websites are the modern equivalent of the town square where people come to discuss ideas and freely exercise their speech. By limiting or outright banning with poor justification who is allowed to access and speak on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc they are infringing on people's rights just because they don't like the message.
