Very true and I have realized this at many points in my life.

Read it on rationale male (In second chapter now - so far, one of the eye opening books I've ever read).

The author says that once you start making changes, people will support it if it is positive for them otherwise they hurl insults at you like 'Don't try to be someone you're not' and stuff like that. At this moment, it is you that should entirely back up your decision which is setting new boundaries and scenarios for self development.

Can confirm this. my ex would always tell me how she would like this and that. Creating rules that I need to follow. But as a man who likes to live simply and easy, I barely created any rules and as soon as I would set some boundaries, she would go apeshit. This is some alien mentality they have.
