It's your life. It's for you to decide. I myself have no intention to marry anytime soon unless some evil witch comes along and somehow manages to trick me into marrying her :P I get plenty of attention from women already, it's enough for me. I don't want to be in a serious relationship because it hinders my work, my hobbies and takes up too much time. It's hard to say how many MGTOWs follow the ideology completely or not.

Everyone has their own idea of what mgtow is. Go your "own" way. Think for yourself. We're all different, and you may find a time when it benefits you to be in a relationship.

If you think you can enter into one, and its equal, and it makes you happier, do it. Dont let ANYONE tell you how to think.

Some of us turn into complete monks and others still date casually. Both ends of the spectrum are fine. However, you did break the first rule in a relationship of only 10 months. I must ask, what prompted you to live with her so soon??

This place has been great for helping me to know better boundaries and warning signs in women (and some men).

I'm divorced, and never getting married again, but I don't have any problem cohabitation with my partner. Some MGTOW will say that's a no-no, but I consider it a risk/reward situation. She and I have been very open about boundaries and responsibilities and our responsibilities as roommates.

I also maintain control over my finances and independence over my life and if that ever starts to slip away I have no problem ejecting out and dropping her.

I don't know to a certain science how many but I can say with confidence that this is just the beginning and we're growing better and stronger, gaining knowledge and wisdom.

Also and there are 4 stages of MGTOW which is why we can't know how many are they in reality.

Seriously. Actually BEING a MGTOW is significantly different than "labeling" yourself as such.

Most guys just aren't capable of it: the "gravitational pull" of pussy & validation from women is just too important to them/too strong for them.

Pretty much guarantee you that a few years from now there will be a whole shitload of guys claiming that they are "Ex-MGTOW" ... which won't really be true, because they never actually were MGTOW; they were simply using the label as a sort of cover/excuse, either during their post-breakup/post-divorce "Dun With Wimminz" phase, and/or to rationalize away some dry spell when they weren't dating.

The only real "rules" are no marry and no cohabitate. So beyond that...

Define follow completely. Because for many MGTOWs here it has many interpretation. I mean at the very core it's basically don't cohabitate or marry women.

But a question has been burning in my head and I finally made a throwaway to ask it, how many of you don't follow MGTOW to a T (basically how many of you have a long-term girlfriend or are even married.)

I discovered MGTOW during a volatile relationship with a feminist. I mean I always had some red-pill awareness because of the amount of relationships I had been in.

I clashed with my ex's feminist ways as she hated me for my masculinity. Constant shit tests. BPD with bouts of severe depression. So for me it was never about fully getting away from women altogether. But I needed to reset. I had become absolutely tired with female nature. I left her and went monk mode for a year. But it was never intended as a perm fixture and I have my reasons for that.

I think whilst MGTOW is the symptom of gynocentrism. It still plays into the segregation of the sexes. It plays right into the puppet master's hand. In a sea of narcissistic women it does serve a man better to not play. But what to extent? Should I also not go outside incase I get hit by a bus? So to me MGTOW is minimizing risk whilst maximizing freedom. So I see MGTOW for me as the single bachelor lifestyle. Don't commit. Don't give my power or freedom away.

MGTOW for me is also not just about women. I had to get rid of close friends. Close family members. Simps who would sell you for a whiff of attention from women.

She hates feminists and growls when a news story pops on the TV about transsexuals, gender fluidity, or anything like that. We split bills (including hotels when we go away) and she goes to the gym and keeps in shape. We've joked about marriage down the road and I told her straight up she'd have to sign a prenup and she enthusiastically agreed without hesitation.

I think if you cohabitate with a woman you are leaving yourself vulnerable. No matter how unique you think she is. She's only unique till she isnt. This culture inspires segregation of the sexes. It encourages debauchery and cheating. In this culture, loyalty is hard pressed to find.

If you're in a relationship you are giving up freedom in exchange for it because you have to consider their needs.

So I don't follow MGTOW to a T but have taken steps to protect myself in all regards when it comes to entering a long-term relationship with a woman. If you find a woman who doesn't fall under AWALT should you not be with them because MGTOW says so? Even if she does turn into an AWALT I keep my money, my house, and I don't owe her a cent moving forward.

No because AWALT is a guideline. It's literally All Women are Capable of that. Because even the nicest woman can pull the wool over your eyes. The way she treats you is always going to be based on her attraction level. And when it hits a low and it will in a relationship, the insidious female nature comes out.

Again, MGTOW isn't a "no women for life bro club". It's tied into your journey as a man. It's about brotherhood. It's minimising risk in a gynocentric society whilst maximising freedom.

You'll get "MGTOW isn't a group" But it absolutely should be. It should have the mentality of brotherhood. Band of brothers. Male space. It shouldn't be every man for himself.

I do not follow or agree with many of the philosophies. I don't dislike women, and I don't believe AWALT and more than AMALT. Being true to MGTOW would be allowing MGTOW to define you.

I also disagree with most of the politics and observe that many men who identify as MGTOW are anything but. There are a lot of MGTOW men who want to get married, have the wife and kids and feel cheated out of that. These are what I call tradcons, they're mostly regressive and want to return to their utopian plantation.

I call myself a lone wolf. I don't think it was a patriarchy or matriarchy, I think it was a "kinderarchy". Everything is about the production of children.

The world is about 7 X overpopulated and I think a great many women are also lone wolf, not so much man haters as realizing that children are a bad idea and extremely destructive to the environment. These are what Unwound call "female MGTOW", because they don't buy into the dream either.

Female supremacists on the other hand.... their thought system poses a very serious problem for themselves and everyone else, including women.

I'm completely flexible when it comes to MGTOW principles but I don't deviate from the path much. I know there are plenty of men that think NAWALT. I understand their disbelief. Unfortunately, when it comes to affairs of the heart, I've sadly never been proved wrong. Even the most agreeable women with whom I was in long-term relationships with, over the span of several years, have been completely shocking in their vindictiveness. It's not even that they want to be that way sometimes, but society has made it so easy for them, that often times, it's the easiest way for them to "win," in their minds.

to me mgtow is mostly about awareness and camaraderie

a friend of mine killed himself in 2011 after his girl took his kids so.. mgtow is important to me because i feel that maybe if he had mgtow he would have realized he wasnt alone... so i think it’s very legit in a gynocentric society but i dont think mgtow is about rules as much as it is about awareness and a masculine spirit

I've been pretty straight forward that I have a gf. I let her know early on that I never want to get married and that I'm not interested in cohabitation, she agreed to be with me. I'm not here to say she's a NAWALT, there's no such thing as a NAWALT because AWALT. This girl pretty much worships me, is a hard worker, puts out a lot (sometimes I have to fend off her advances with a stick), either splits expenses or sometimes pays 100% for things like food or entertainment and the moment that she's more trouble than she's worth, I'll dump her.

I'm with her but on my terms and my terms alone, if she doesn't like it, she knows where the door is. She knows it wouldn't be hard for me to get another girlfriend.

I don't "follow" it, because of the situation I'm in. I wish wholeheartedly I had come across MGTOW a long time ago. The philosophy aligns with many things I've observed and had somewhere in the back of my mind for a long time, but maybe dismissed or disregarded.

If there came a time where my relationship were over, MGTOW would be the way to go. And FWIW my significant other does not align perfectly with AWALT characteristics, just about 75% or so. The fact of the matter remains, marriage in the developed western world has not been a reasonable bargain for men for a very long time - but societal pressures have continued to push it.
