I did the same thing when I was in college. I got a call from the restaurant where I was working for summer break. They needed help and I went in. Girlfriend at the time got pissed. How dare I put work over her but I needed the money for tuition and books. I don't regret it for a minute.

I'm going to be controversial here and say she has a point. It wasn't that you prioritised your life/job/career here.... it was a case of "cancel sex to do extra work for extra money".
