I think it's interesting how it seems to work quite well on certain targets. One picture was of some older female politician. The app just removed her lipstick and not much else. She didn't look older, she didn't appear to be dying. It just looked like the same person without lipstick. Running the app on Donald Trump removes his orange skin but doesn't really change anything else.
I'm guessing it looks for makeup around the eyes and makes people look haggard if makeup is detected. Donald Trumps eyes are the only parts of his face that are not orange, and the app didn't try to add dark rings of tiredness around the eyes. The people wearing heavy eye makeup always end up looking extremely tired after the app processes them.
I should check if anyone did it on Mitt Romney. Remember when Mitt Romney appeared to be wearing blackface in an interview? It was hilariously bad. You could literally see a line along the edge of his face where the makeup ended. Mitt Romney blackface
