My friend did this too. Saw his relationship was heading south (kid involved) and knew he was about to be creamed in the courts because he was in a high paying job. He purposely got fired and went on welfare during the court proceedings and they went lightly on him.

His ex is a party girl and he knew if he was paying more money than required for the child, she'd blow it all on booze, drugs and partying. He had no issue with paying for his child, but didn't want to pay more than was necessary if there was no way of tracking where the money was being spent.

As soon as agreeable child support terms were set, he applied for work in his field again, got the first one he applied for and got his life back on track. His ex hates it and occasionally tries to lure him back in.

That is not true that if you lose your job that you get reduced child support or alimony. The state will look back at your tax returns and "impute" an income to you.

So yeah, ask me how I know this. Lol

In India the judiciary works as per their whims & fancies. And mostly the decision sways in favor of the woman coz "ooh they were so oppressed". What decision can be made in different cases only they know. So this dude who got himself fired could be in a bad situation if he gets a cucked/mangina judge.
