TFM has a video about the whole Harvey Weinstein thing. You may have heard of him in the news recently. Supposedly he's some kind of rapist or sexual harasser. TFM points out that Weinstein was just maintaining the Hollywood status quo of the casting couch. The casting couch has been around for decades. Some young attractive women wants a part, so she bangs some big exec and gets it. It's quid pro quo. Weinstein didn't punish anyone for saying no to sex. He just didn't help their careers. Now all of a sudden, decades later, women are coming out of the woodworks calling Weinstein a rapist. Notice there are no police reports.

I do think Hollywood's casting couch is lame. Women with marginal talent can get good roles just by banging some powerful man. But the women who use that system are just as guilty as the sleazy execs who do. So now all of a sudden feminists have created a witch hunt for Mr. Weinstein for using the system that the actresses in Hollywood have also been using. They're just as guilty as he is. It should be noted that Weinstein didn't punish anyone's careers for not banging him. He just didn't help them. If a young actress banged him, he helped her. If not, he left her alone.

If people really wanted to get rid of Hollywood's casting couch, they would demand that all who've participated clean up their act. Instead, in typical feminist fashion, they simply find a man to blame.
