I have a female friend that I am somewhat close with because our parents have been friends since before we were even born, and we're both the only child in each of our respective family. I'm fully MGTOW so I have no interest in a relationship despite the pressing of family member/friends/idiots (not our parents thankfully), despite this we talk pretty regularly.

One thing that really got me recently was when I was confiding in her about a problem I had. Keep in mind that I've helped her through shit before, and been sympathetic towards her plights in a friendly way. Anyways - I almost never speak to her about my problems because I have a lot of male friends that I can talk to, but this specifically involved a pretty serious issue I'm having with someone we both know.

So I was texting back and forth with her and I asked her can I talk to you about person, and she says sure. I tell her everything that's going on in a few long texts. Her response was to send me an animated gif of a baby crying. I told her that's not really an appropriate response given the situation, and she sent me another gif of a person shrugging. I told her that I didn't appreciate her taking this so lightly and stopped talking to her.

I thought about it more and started to realize - she's an attractive mid-20's female, she has a ton of betas and white knights following and commenting on all of her social media posts. She can treat people like shit constantly and face basically no repercussions, and this is true for a lot of younger women. The problem is they become older, haggard women but never gain that sense of empathy.

I ended up going out with one of my male friends for a beer and we talked it over and he gave me a lot of good advice. I should have just done that in the first place rather than expect anything out of a girl, even one I consider a friend.
