My plate is 17 years younger than me.

How did I manage that? We got to talking and she never asked my age. I brought it up one time and her body language indicated that bringing it up was a no-no. I quickly moved the conversation elsewhere and she's not had an issue with it since.

When there is a large age difference, they generally don't want to be reminded that you are (close in some cases) old enough to be their dad. Thinking you are similar to Dad and involving sex will kill attraction.

Sex with Dad = Icky You ~ Dad --> Sex with you = Icky

Be smart. Don't let her associate you with her dad when going for time in the sack.

In your case, 9 years isn't as big of a deal. But without having been there, it isn't easy to figure out what went awry.

I would give her a day or two of silence. If she messages you, go from there. After a couple days of no contact on her part, I'd move on.
