Summary:

I turned 21 earlier this week, finally got to implement what I learned here. Came to some surprising realizations.

Body:

I turned 21 at the beginning of the week and my old man took me out for drinks. He's always been a strong role model in my life, and while he's not actually picking up women as a married man, he definitely knows how to play the game. He took me out to show me bar etiquette, how to order a drink without sounding like an idiot, how to properly tip, etc. It was a great time.

I have been reading TRP for about 8 months now, but, as an engineering student under 21 (read: not going to bars or parties), I haven't been able to properly implement many of the strategies I read on here. Sure, I've been playing around with day game but it hasn't really been anything serious.

Also, like many people who discover this subreddit, I've been harboring a lot of resentment towards women in general.

I'd love to tell you that I showed up at the bar, was the center of attention, picked up multiple girls and went home and had a threesome. Obviously this wasn't the case - to an extent. Part of my whole shtick is that I'm great at the piano so I made sure to be at a venue with live music featuring a piano. Two of them actually. At some point in the night I ended up on the stage jamming some Billy Joel with the band. And while I have no doubt that this could have netted some pootang, I wasn't really interested at that moment. I was with my dad, talking to everyone in the bar and having a great time.

Honestly, the only actual RP thing that happened all night was some tramp walked up to me and asked me to give her my seat at the bar. Obviously I said no, but it wasn't because I maintained frame as much as it was the fact that I was shocked that she actually had the audacity to do so.

And at the end of the night, you know what I realized? I wasn't even mad at women anymore. I'm indifferent towards them. They are the way they are, and I've wasted so much energy being consumed by animosity towards them. It's stupid in retrospect. You can have fun with them like you can have fun with a little kid when you're in the mood. Obviously there's no sense in harboring any ill will towards a kid when they wrong you, intentionally or not.

Lessons learned:

I just want to make sure that no one new to TRP makes the same mistake I did - there's no substitution for going out and actually living life. I've spent way so many hours obsessing over the philosophy of TRP that I've blown it way out of proportion in my mind. Yes, the things we discuss here are real issues, but they apply to such a small segment of the general population. Women are often narcissistic, especially in the West, but they're not bad people. They aren't out to get you, nor do they have a personal vendetta against you (usually). Rather, they are a reflection of how you present yourself as a man, your SMV and your values.
