Due to some medical and legal issues I'm not actually able to work and don't have credit to get a loan, we're on a single income but I'll be supporting the home. He told me it's not really necessary for me to be on the title since he'll be paying and taking out the loans, but there's definitely an advantage to both people being on it I'm sure. I'm assuming it's better for taxes, or if something happens to one of the people the other has the legal ability to make decisions

One of the reasons I want to be on the title is to protect my investment in case the relationship doesn't work out. I won't be working in the future most likely, I have medical and legal issues to deal with.

But it's where we're going to live and where I will spend all my time while he's at work so it should be a nice place. And it's not like if we got a cheaper home and he put the extra money into stocks I could put my name also on his stocks. Unless I could somehow? We're not even close to being married or anything. I think that would be a lot more unrealistic to get him to agree to though. What are my options there? He's almost on board with letting me put my name on the title of the house because we're planning a future together in the house and it would make me feel a lot more comfortable. To me, it seems like that's the safest way to go to protect my investment.

I can't really do a lot of house repairs besides basic stuff like change lightbulbs or wait for the repairman. I have a mobility problem due to my weight because of some medical issues I have. But to be clear. I'm not taking advantage of him. He knows we need a good house together. I'll be moving from my parents' house and won't be moving into some drab fixer-upper that needs workers over all the time, which is really expensive in the long-run anyways.

It may not seem like it to some, but a partnership and relationship is more than just money. It's working towards a common goal together, emotionally and financially. And I'm allowed to protect my investments in both. In fact, I should be protecting my investments of time, emotion and skill. Just because he's paying the bills technically doesn't mean I'm not there 100% of the time along for the ride. And if I'm spending 90% of my time in our new home, yeah, it should be a good one. That's not full of broken things that will end up costing us more in repairs than we would have paid for by just buying the right place the first time.

This is frightening, her entire vocabulary sounds like con tricking: 'getting him to agree', 'convince him', 'almost on board', 'my investement', 'my time'...

I wouldn't want to get a lawyer before signing on to the title, I feel like he would take my BF's side immediately. I also won't be on the mortgage, I don't have any money. But I'm not worried about my credit in the future, I already don't have any credit. There's a lot of credit card debt that I've never paid and I've been dealing with collections for a long time now.

What's not to love right here? Don't you want to shack up immediately with such a price?

I don't see why so many of you think this is a troll to me she just demonstrates what is to be a modern woman. What exactly is so hard to believe? The fact that she wants her bfs money? The fact that she doesn't want to pay for anything? Her cosmic level of entitlement? Her lack of reasoning and undertendment of economics or how the real world works? NOTHING of what she says sounds imposable because all women think like that on some level some might be better off then others but they are all the same.

To simplify this how is this situation different then "he should pay for my dinner and drinks when he is taking me out"? It is not she is just entitled to your time money and attention just on a bigger scale.

All he has to do is get a raise and they can "grow" into their debt in a few years, or his debt, because she doesn't work. And she'll get her name on the lease, because even though she doesn't work, it'll help somehow. On a positive note, she is prepared to make sacrifices, such as only going out to dinner twice a month and on special occasions, which for a person who doesn't work or pay for anything, is a valiant sacrifice indeed.

Although I do see this attitude in women in general. Look at these TV shows where a couple are buying/building/renting a house. The woman often has all these excessive demands with the man just going along with her. Particularly egregious is that she often demands a huge lavish kitchen, when you can bet she hardly ever cooks.

Reminds me of my former boss who when he married his second wife was living in a nice unit. At her urging he moved twice into successively larger and more lavish houses, even though it was just the two of them. And he lost money each time. If this post is real, then you can bet the same thing is going to happen here.
